AWARENESS
Had to learn what's going wrong before we can make it right.
I'm still in the business of learning about business, but I'm also in the business of learning how to help my community.
Work Ethic
Be present for your dreams
The outside world will always be the eye of the storm, you must learn to balance yourself with in it.
If you don't show up, someone else will. Just like you work to keep the lights on, work just as hard for your dreams.
Be available to assist someone else in your future.
Think outside the box
Don't limit your creativity
When I created Swahili Coney, it was out of pure fun. My muse was my friend and all the wonderful home cooked meals she use to make from Africa.
It took me back to my grandmother's home as a child.
I wanted to create that feeling crossed with my Detroit roots; Coney Island.
Let your creativity take you to far places.
Community
Even when you can't see the light; keep pushing
Running a business is never easy, but the reward of gaining wisdom, knowledge and community...keeps the fire burning.
It's ok to admit you don't know. The answer is out there, go on the hunt for information.
It's YOURS!..whatever you want! it doesn't come wrapped in pretty bows though.
