V Ξ N U S Studio & Event Space is a woman-owned & operated creative space nestled in the heart of Walkerville, Ontario, Canada. This is home to myself, Alana Rose, where I operate Bella Brows Windsor - offering Semi-Permanent Make-Up & Cosmetic Tattooing. I’ve had this business for over 6 years & I occupy the “Dark” side of the studio space for my PMU appointments in the form of microblading for the eyebrows & hairline, as well as lip blushing🫦. My beauty services are in a space promoting peace, calmness & nervous system regulation, amidst a plethora of plants & energetic crystals🔮🌿✨
This studio has epic 13 ft ceilings & an east-facing wall of windows which perfectly illuminates the space. V Ξ N U S is also a spacious 600 ft.² with an open floor-plan (there are no interior walls except for the powder room), offering beautiful natural light for anyone using the space.
My mission when curating this studio has been to provide an inclusive, warm, welcoming & high-quality atmosphere for clients & artists alike. Empowering anyone who uses this studio to show up more authentically in this world, creating a safe space for you to get creative!

BELLA BROWS & Hyperrealistic Microblading
I specialize in paramedical tattooing - a hyperrealistic, wispy, fluffy & most importantly *natural* appearance for the eyebrow, accomplished through the traditional Microblading, or semi- permanent tattooing technique. A hand tool is used & the results create & mimic natural hair density with smaller hair-like strokes instead of the “combo” or “ombré” method often created with a machine which can yield a more blocky, unnatural result. The goal is for the client’s results to be so natural that even under the harshest of light conditions, the microbladed pigment will be undetectable 😉
What is it?
Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo technique used to create the illusion of fuller brows. This technique allows the artist to create almost any look ranging from a natural light finish to a beautifully bold brow. We use a manual handheld tool to draw each individual stroke, ensuring the most realistic outcome possible. Before our artist starts, they will take you through a consultation, map out your desired shape and numb the brows for a comfortable experience.
BROWS 101 —
BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT
Do not drink alcohol or caffeine 24 hours prior to your appointment.
Do not take Advil or other blood thinners such as Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Niacin or Vitamin-E for 72 hours prior to your appointment (if you are taking prescription blood thinners or are on an aspirin regimen DO NOT stop taking without consulting your physician)
No waxing, tanning, tinting or tweezing 72 hours before your appointment.
No electrolysis treatments 5 days before your appointment.
No Botox, collagen or fat injections 2 weeks before your appointment.
No AHA prescriptions creams 2 weeks before your appointment.
No chemical or laser treatments 6 weeks before your appointment.
Do not use Retin-A or products containing retinol 2 weeks before your appointment.
Wear your normal make-up the day of so we can get a sense of what your daily make-up routine is.
BROWS 101
AFTER THE APPOINTMENT
Leave post-care ointment applied to Microbladed brows for 6 to 8 hours after the appointment. Pat with a dry paper towel to remove.
24 hours post-session, start cleaning the brows 2-3 times a day with fragrance free soap (eg. Dove bar soap or Cetaphil). Pat gently with warm water then immediately pat dry with a paper or lint-free towel.
Avoid scratching or rubbing motion on brows. DO NOT prematurely pull at scabs or any dry or flaked skin.
NO working out or sweating for 7 to 10 days post-session.
Keep brows as dry as possible! Apply a small amount of coconut oil or aloe gel if brows are extremely itchy or flaky.
Microblading Steps
+ Step 1 – Consultation
We will take a look at your natural eyebrow shape to determine where we will be tattooing, to give you a fuller look. You should arrive with your brows made up how you normally have them, so we can see what you like. Your natural eyebrows without any makeup are then examined and brushed back, so we can see what we are working with. Photos will be taken at each stage which will be great for comparing once we’re done.
+ Step 2 – Measurements
The next stage involves using rulers or callipers to measure the positioning of your new brows so they are even. We will chat with you about your desired finish and whether you want a natural look or a more bold finish. We will discuss the shape which we will recommend is in line with your natural brow shape and what suits your face. We always take a natural approach for the first session. We will never let you end up looking like Spock from Star Trek!
+ Step 3 – Pencil
Once we have agreed on the shape and overall finish you desire, we will then draw on the brows. This won’t be representative of the final look, since the colour won’t be right and also the pencil is solid rather than hair strokes, if this is what you have opted for. The purpose of penciling is to get an idea of the shape and positioning before we start tattooing. This is an important step to get correct as your brows will be on your face for a few years!
+ Step 4 – Mixing the colour
Your chosen colour which should match your natural tones will be mixed and agreed before we start.
+ Step 5 – Tattooing
If you are worried about pain, don’t be too concerned. Everyone has a different pain threshold, but generally speaking, it is just an annoying scratching feeling that your body will quickly adjust to. If anything, you are most likely to sneeze and get a runny nose! Tiny emulated hair strokes are etched in to the skin using a micro blade tool (hence why it’s called microblading!). Microblading is done in layers, so the first layer is usually pretty numb. On subsequent layers, we also use a numbing cream and your body will also kick in with its natural response to help numb the pain. So subsequent layers usually aren’t too painful either. Expect a scratching feeling and sound. Once the layers are finished, your eyebrows might be a little red. This redness will go down after a few hours so it is up to you if you want to organize any nights out or socialise afterwards. Your brows will be about 30% darker immediately after your appointment compared to when they are healed.
+ Step 6 – Touch up session
You will need a second session of microblading for the full effect. This should be done 4 to 8 weeks after your first treatment. You will discuss the results so far and decide how much more you want to add in. The process and after care for your touch up session is the same as the initial session. Remember, do not get your brows wet during the healing phase!
Our highest priority is that you feel calm and comfortable through the entire thing. Your artist will guide you through the appointment to ensure that all of your questions go answered!
Healing Expectations
HEALING EXPECTATIONS
Skin healing rate differs from one person to another. The following is what typically happens:
Day 1 – 2. The eyebrows are approximately 20 – 40% bolder in colour and size. There will be slight swelling and redness.
Day 3. Eyebrows will begin to itch and will appear thicker still. **Do not scratch, you may tap them lightly to alleviate the itch.**
Day 4 – 5. The skin begins to flake and peel, when flaking happens colour will appear soft and grey. Not to worry, the color will come back a bit darker.
Day 6 – 9. The Colour continues to appear lighter than the final result.
Day 10. The colour begins to stabilize and show through. The colour will be set when the healing process completes in about 4 to 6 weeks.

HAIRLINE RESCUE TREATMENT
We have three options for coverage: Hair Part OR
Temples, Hair Part AND Temples, and Full Hairline. The best solution for you can be determined at the consultation. Please note that our treatment coverage extends up to two inches from your real hairline.
PROCEDURE:
We will first draw on the hairline by hand, strand-by-strand, to show the amount of coverage. Then, numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area. The treatment will take 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
There is no downtime, however the hair line will take about a week to heal. It may appear darker than you are used to for a week, then lighten into the desired color within two weeks. Please follow after-care instructions and return for the Perfecting Session (included in the price of the Hairline Rescue treatment) within two months.
Please note that all hairline treatments extend for up to two inches from existing "real" hairline.
