About Jessie

I started in this industry as a junior when I was 14, back in 2008, but I always knew I wanted to make people look and feel beautiful. I grew up in beautiful bath, UK and worked my way up to become a senior director in colouring, cutting and bridal work with a few photo shoots thrown in for fun.
My passion for hair is something I talk about on the daily, and my clients feel throughout their appointment. I just love taking hair to the next level whether it be that insta-worthy balayage, perfecting your haircut or creating your bridal hair of dreams, I never get bored of it.
I’m always on to the next with education and take my inspiration from my gorgeous clients and global trends, fashion week etc.
If you book with me, I guarantee you low maintenance, healthy beautiful hair, better than it’s ever been before!
I love that I can be creative everyday, still use my passion for science and have a great conversation in a beautiful space. So I’ll see you there?

Hair goals

How can you achieve them?

Below are my top tips for achieving your hair goals, at a reasonable cost, without compromising the condition of your hair and all in good time!

Blonde babes

To make your blonde pop you need hydration, protein and tone!
Be sure to use a shampoo and conditioner designed especially for blonde hair and always use a mask. Blondes tend to look dull and lifeless when dehydrated or damaged, so when choosing a mask look for one that hydrates and rebuilds the hair structure and you’ll be on your way to shine city.
Also, let me introduce you to your new best friends...toners! You may not need more highlights or want to go blonder but after 4-6 weeks, your blonde feels a little less sexy than it did before, sound familiar?
It’s because your toner has faded.
Toners are designed to enhance or neutralise tone, so we can say goodbye to yellow, dull, flat looking blonde and hello to tonal, shiny, blended colour.
I top up my blonde every month with a toner and conditioning treatment and a trim if needed. This means I don’t need to bleach it as often, and it feels healthy, strong and happy!

Haircuts

Your hair is alive and growing all the time, which is why you need to keep on top of your cuts.
If you’re growing your hair, a cut every 10-12 weeks is optimum to keep those split ends at bay and guarantee long, strong locks.
But if you’re happy with the length, want to maintain a style and keep your hair looking fresh AF, I would say every 6-8 weeks is perfect!
MYTH BUSTING TIME
MYTH - “I’m not guna cut my hair for a year and let it grow” - this is a common mistake, and although it makes sense not to keep trimming when you’re trying to grow what actually happens around the 3 month mark is your ends start to split, and they continue to do so all the way up the hair shaft. So when you finally do come to get a cut, your hair is super weak, split and compromised, meaning you’re going to have to take a lot more length off to get back to healthy hair.
There is no point having long hair if it looks damaged and broken! That is not a hair goal!

Styling

My favourite! I love to create beautiful blow dries, waves, up dos and there is nothing better than booking in with your stylist for a blow dry. It’s such a treat, your hair will look divine, and it will cut your getting ready time in half!
Don’t forget to bring a photo, or an idea of what you’re wearing so your stylist can create a look you’ll love that’ll go with your outfit.
However if you don’t have the time or funds to book in or you maybe enjoy doing your own hair, there are so many things you can do at home and it’s not a bad idea to invest in a lesson with your stylist so they can teach you how to achieve salon results at home.
Think, products, tools and a lot of patience, it’s never as easy doing your own as it is for somebody else, but if you can nail a few simple tricks and tips, you’ll be on your way to loving your hair even more!

What do I book for?

Feeling a little confused?

It’s all good baby baby, below is a simple guide to making sure you know what to ask for when booking an appointment!

Balayage

Are you super low maintenance? Do you love a natural lived-in feel to your blonde? Do you like keeping your root for depth and contrast?
You are a balayage babe!
Now.. depending on how long ago you had your colour done and what your goal is will depend on how much time your colourist needs.
If you just feel a little freshen up is all you need, bringing the blonde a bit higher and getting the tone and depth back into your ends then you probably just need an infill. This is a top up service and will get you feeling fresh again.
However, if the last time you had your hair done was 6 months ago or more, you’re gonna need a little extra. A full balayage will overhaul your hair and work from front to back, root to tip . This service is also great for those working towards going lighter, who feel like they’re ready to be blonder!

Foils/highlights

There are so many different option when it comes to foils, and they all have different results. This is something you can discuss with your hairdresser on the day, the only thing you need to know is, 1/4 head, 1/2 head or full head?
Here’s the difference
1/4 head works mainly on your part and 2 or 3 foils scattered through your hairline, this is a great option if you are time conscious, or know you’re not 100% ready for your usual appointment but are going away and need a little something.
1/2 head works from ear to ear, just below your crown, it covers everything you see, but doesn’t do any of the underneath. This works well if you’re maintaining a colour you’re happy with and just need your roots done or prefer a more subtle look by scattering a 1/2 worth of foils through the entire hair. If your hair is dark underneath, you may need to upgrade to a full head every 3rd appointment to keep your colour even and natural.
Full head works through the entirety of your hair, no section is left behind. This is great if you’re wanting to alter your colour or if you wanna be a super fresh bright blonde babe. We foil from hairline to hairline and pack them in through the part, ensuring an even and balanced colour from every angle!

Do I need a toner?

The answer is YES HONEY!!!
Every beautiful colour is made even more perfect with a toner, whether you’re blonde, brunette or a red head a toner can elevate your colour.
Toners work by enhancing or neutralising tone, think yellow to creamy, ash blonde or faded brown to rich and glossy! Sometimes, if you feel you need your colour done because it’s gone a little flat, lifeless, dull, you may just need a toner. They sit on the surface of your hair, reflecting light and adding depth and shine. A good toner will also nourish your hair adding condition and hydration.
A toner is usually a 15 minute service, can be done at the basin and is a great option to add on to your blow dry or cut in between your colour appointment!
