Meet Alexis, the SLP behind Language Bloom

“Communication is more than words”

I’m a clinically certified and competent practicing SLP under the American Speech-language and Hearing Association (ASHA) for the past 6+ years.

My passion has always been with the emerging language of children and the importance of play during these crucial first years.

I am a proud Butler Bulldog and Sycamore Alumna!

My son, Jayce, was born in the midst of my graduate school experience. Therefore, I was lucky enough to apply my early - intervention skills as I learned them throughout his development.

I’ve spent my career in pediatric outpatient centers specializing in sensory integration, play, and emerging language; in-home working alongside babies, toddlers, and their parents; & in the schools working with preK-8th in the greater Columbus area. In fact, I am currently practicing part-time at the prestigious Columbus Academy!

My daughter, Ayla Rose, was born in 2021, a time where the social scene greatly changed for babies and toddlers. With social distancing, spaces closed, and mask mandates, I too wondered how this would impact the socialization and language development for our babies.

Hence, Language Bloom was born! Supporting parents in safe spaces both
virtually and in intimate group settings. The intention is to provide you with the flexibility to learn and the tools needed to support your child’s emerging language in your day-to-day life.

I’m so glad you’re here!
