With his specialty in Functional Movement, David has more that 15 years of experience specializing in functional movement, corrective exercises/injury prevention and speed and agility. David is a former college and professional football player that’s has transitioned himself in the sports performance and fitness industry. He has worked and trained many of the top high school and collegiate athletes in the area. His expertise also includes training professional athletes and contributing to the NFL Combine Draft Prep.

Functional Movement Screening

The FMS is a tool used to identify asymmetries which result in functional movement deficiencies. The FMS aims to identify imbalances in mobility and stability during seven fundamental movement patterns. These movement patterns are designed to provide observable performance of basic locomotor, manipulative and stabilising movements by placing an individual in extreme positions where weaknesses and imbalances become noticeable if appropriate mobility and motor control is not utilised. Once these deficiencies have been identified through the FMS, a program of corrective exercises is then developed with the goal of preventing musculoskeletal injuries.

The FMS consists of seven movement patterns which require mobility and stability. The seven following movement patterns are scored from 0-3 points, with the sum creating a score ranging from 0-21 points.

Corrective Exercises

Corrective Exercises is a movement or exercise chosen to correct a specific dysfunction.

The exercises fox movement compensations and imbalances to improve the overall quality of movement during workouts, sports play and in everyday life.

The Training session will teach physical fitness concept, will help understand the influence of lifestyle on health and fitness, and begin to develop an optimal level of fitness. The program includes, the following: -mobile -functional movement -agility -strength and conditioning -sport Specific training -fitness program design nutrition - speed and explosion.
-ZOOM CLASSES AVAILABLE

Ages 5-7 : training focus will be agility, plyometrics , footwork, body weight strength.

Ages 7-9: training focus will be agility, footwork, mobility , conditioning, plyometrics, introduction to weight lifting and functional training.

Ages 10-12: training focus will be functional training, sport specific training, mobility, flexibility, strength and conditioning.

Functional Movement Training

Functional movement training is all about training “movements, not muscles.”

Functional training will improve your athleticism. Whole body strength, stability and movement quality will all be greatly enhanced.
You’ll also be more robust and resilient to injury. All in all, this is going to transfer to better athletic performance.

Functional training is purpose-driven training, but also fun and varied, which will keep you engaged.
It works your whole body out by favouring multi-joint exercises, building strength and muscle in a functional and balanced way. Because of this, it’s sustainable and will have you seeing improvements over the long haul.
