The Bicycling Bunny

a little free library in chino, california

Hello there,

you have come across a little free library...

We are a little free library located in Chino, California. Established in the summer of 2014... The Bicycling Bunny LFL was the first neighborhood lending library in the College Park community, earning a feature in our local newspaper the Chino Champion in June 2014.

In 2015, we were featured in Margaret Aldrich’s The Little Free Library Book along with other innovative LFLs across the globe.

We are officially chartered as #14279 and recognized as a Literacy Friendly Neighborhood since May 2015. In January 2015 we were awarded as a Library of Distinction by The Little Free Library Organization.

The Wandering Warren (#54685) is our mobile popup little free library.

Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates

Between the World and Me is a 2015 nonfiction book written by Ta-Nehisi Coates and published by Spiegel & Grau. It is written as a letter to the author's teenage son about the feelings, symbolism, and realities associated with being Black in the United States. Coates recapitulates American history and explains to his son the "racist violence that has been woven into American culture." Coates draws from an abridged, autobiographical account of his youth in Baltimore, detailing the ways in which institutions like the school, the police, and even "the streets" discipline, endanger, and threaten to disembody black men and women. The work takes structural and thematic inspiration from James Baldwin's 1963 epistolary book The Fire Next Time. Unlike Baldwin, Coates sees white supremacy as an indestructible force, one that Black Americans will never evade or erase, but will always struggle against.

Grace for the Afflicted by Matthew Stanford

Each day men and women diagnosed with mental disorders are told they need to pray more and turn from their sin. Mental illness is equated with demonic possession, weak faith and generational sin. Why is it that the church has struggled in ministering to those with mental illnesses? As both a church leader and professor of psychology and neuroscience, Dr. Stanford has seen far too many mentally ill brothers and sisters damaged by well meaning believers who respond to them out of fear or misinformation rather than grace. Grace for the Afflicted is written to educate Christians about mental illness from both biblical and scientific perspectives.
