5 Euro Challenge is a “creative reaction” to the immense test we are facing and living through today and which is set up to go down in history, the Covid-19 pandemic.

The project 🔹comes out of the desire to create, to experiment and not to surrender, at a time of severe limitations and isolation.🔹

This is precisely why we wanned to create a 🔹connection between creatives and artists,🔹 who through their work will bring entertainment directly to everyone’s home.

How it works

Every day, a new creative piece of work, delivered to your doorstep

🔸Every day we shall publish a different piece of artwork, which will be viewable worldwide for 24 hours via the Aria Platform app.

🔸Every creative will then have an entire day devoted to his work in augmented reality. It will be viewable in our Instagram gallery.

🔸What will happen at the end of the Challenge?
The most admired works will be assembled in a brief reel which will remain viewable on AR until the next Challenge!

Who Is It for

This edition of 5 Euro Challenge is open to ILLUSTRATORS AND DESIGNERS who want to have fun and and share their talent.

Are you one of them? Good!

Reinterpret a five-euro banknote with the new theme. Your work will be published and visible to everyone, thanks to augmented reality via the ARIA The AR Platform app, simply by framing the banknote with your smartphone.

Travel challenge

For this new challenge we have introduced a theme: travel

We are now heading towards the end of this period of quarantine and perhaps now as never before have we felt the need to escape from the walls that encircle us, even if only in our imaginations. There are prerequisites. We want you all to feel free to interpret travel in whatever way you please, whether it be the next place you want to visit or one that stayed in your hearts or even an imaginary journey in the meanders of your thoughts! In short, let your imaginations loose! 😊

7 easy steps

Download the Photoshop, Illustrator or Procreate template:

Your illustration must respect the following specs:

1. Resolution 1600x1000 pixel

2. PNG with alpha format

3. RGB 72 DPI

If you so wish, sign your work with name and surname (or pen name)

Within the template we shall provide masks to give you an idea of approach; feel free to be creative and use what you like

Including original elements of the banknote increases the play between reality and illustration

Respect the theme by giving your interpretation of travel

If you like, why not film the screen in timelapse while you work and send it to us with your illustration? We shall be more than happy to share each artist’s ‘making of’ 😊

Some suggestions:

Thanks to augmented reality it is possible to “exit” the banknote and use the surrounding space. The only limits are the gradients of transparency: you can’t use transparencies with the alpha channel because they’re not supported by the app. So please be sure to apply 100% of opacity.

Deadline

For this second challenge we have two deadlines, so also those who are particularly busy can take part.

🔸Deadline #1: 14 May
work received by this date will have their show-day.

🔸Deadline #2: 20 May
of all work received between 14 and 20 May, we shall make a selection, due to the limited amount we can publish.

All work will be checked by us before publication. We reserve the right to select and irrevocably judge work on the basis of technical and ethical propriety.

Participating to this project, you authorize the use of the above information in accordance with Italian Law Decree 196/2003
