Words Cannot Begin To Express How Grateful I Am That You Decided To Get To Know Me.

My Name Is Amber Durante And I’m 31 Years Old. I Am Originally From The East Side Of Oahu, However I Recently Moved To The North East Coast Of Hawaii Island.

I Am A Former USPS Mail Carrier Who Decided To Uproot My Entire Life To Begin A More Fulfilling And Mentally Healthy Journey.

Back On Oahu I Struggled With Chronic Depression And High Social Anxiety. So I’m Actually In A Bit Of A Surreal Moment When I Think Of Myself As A Contestant For The Miss Bikini Hawaii 2024 Pageant.

Although This Journey May Be Difficult, I’m So Excited For this Opportunity. I Love Enriching And Restoring Our Local Communities So When I Was Approached With The Idea Of Becoming A Contestant I Was A Bit Skeptical, Not Because Of Thé Pageant Itself But Because I Don’t Really Draw Too Much Attention To Myself. After Speaking To One Of The Head Chairs Of This Organization She Informed Me Of The Mission And Focus Of Their Platform And I Was Sold.

Miss Bikini Hawaii Showcases Extraordinary Women In The Hawaiian Islands That Represents Hawaii On A Global Scale. If I Can Bring Awareness To All Of The Organizations And Foundations That I Actively Support Then I Feel Like Mission Is Being Accomplished. Domestic Violence, Substance Abuse And Mental Health Awareness Are Such Substantial Pillars In My Life
That I’ve Dedicated Myself To Help Heal And Restore Families and Individuals Who Have Been Affected By These Pandemics.

Through This Platform I’ll Shed Light On Very Dark Topics Bringing them Out Of The Shadows, And To The Forefront So That We May Address These Issues Out In The Open. There’s No Doubt About It When It Comes To Avoiding These Topics, They’re Sensitive Subjects That Usually Correlate With Negative Memories. But No Problem Was Ever Solved In The Dark. I Want To Change The Perception Of Being Silent Just Because It Doesn’t Fit The Ideal Standards Of “Coffee Talk”.

These Issues Have Been Around For Decades So We Need Everyone Involved In The Solution. I Come Before You As A Vessel Of Hope, Inspiration And Determination To Better Our Communities And Future Generations. Mahalo For Contributing To My Cause.

The Long Game

First And Foremost I Want To Say Mahalo Nui Loa For Everyone Who Continuously Supports Me And What I Stand For- Throughout My Journey To Become The Next Miss Bikini Hawaii 2024.

My Short Term Goal Is To Bring National Attention And Future Resource Funding To The Local Organizations And Foundations On Hawaii Island.

My Long Term Goal Is To Set Up A Self-Sustainable Resource Hub Located In The Northern Region Of Hawaii Island That Will Be Available To All Residents. Through This Hub Residents Will Be Able To Receive Help With Filling Out Necessary Forms For State Funded Assistance Such As Housing, Food Stamps, Financial Assistance And Medical Coverage. There Will Also Be Free To Low Cost Counseling Available For The Community And An Advocacy Program That Will Focus On Helping Every Member With Receiving The Needed Assistance To Help Guide Our Community Members Into The Next Step Of Their Healing Journey. In This Advocacy Program Each Registered Client Will Be Assigned To An Advocate That Will Work On Their Clients’ Behalf To Help Their Client With Whatever Needs Each Case Requires. This includes But Is Not Limited To Entry Into Domestic Violence Shelters/ Homeless Shelters/Treatment Facilities/Mental Health Institutions And Transportation To Those Shelters And/Or Programs. This Advocacy Program Will Be Free To The Community.

My Main Mission Is To Help Restore And Uplift Our People Here On Hawaii Island By Providing The Necessary Education And Resources To Create A Safe Space For Loved Ones To Flourish.

I Pride Myself In Bringing A Representation Of Hawaii Island And The Aloha Spirit To The Miss Bikini Hawaii Pageant.

    Growing Up Everyone In Our Household Had A Sport That Consumed Our Life. Mine Happened To Be Volleyball. At The Time I Thought It Was Such A Chore, Until It Wasn’t. As I Grew Into The Sport And Began Receiving Scholarship Offers I Realized That This Chore Was Turning Into My Passion. There Was Nothing I Enjoyed More Than Sweating All Over The Squeaky Basketball Courts. I Absolutely Loved The Sport. As Time Went On I Began To Take Up Other Interests That Didn’t Allow Me The Time To Play But I’d Still Hop In On A Game Or Two Of Beach Volleyball 🏐

This Beach Park Is Located On The North East Side Of Hawaii Island. Travel Down A Lush Narrow Road That Opens To A Gorgeous Beachfront Park Surrounded By Black Rocks And A Panoramic View Of The Lapahoehoe Terrain. This Beach Is Recommended For Experienced Swimmers Due To The Strong Currents. And While You’re There Be Sure To Check Out The Monument That Speaks About The Tragic History That Shadows This Valley.

Journey To The Valley Isle, Maui And You’ll Be Enraptured By The Beauty This Island Has To Offer. Head Out East And You’ll Soon Find The Majestic Countryside That Winds Down The Eastern Coast. You’ll Be Surrounded By Beautiful Waterfalls And Foliage. There Are Multiple Fresh Water Ponds To Enjoy. Hana Is One Of My Favorite Places To Visit That Helps Me Reground Myself And Reminds Me Of How Grateful I Am To Live In The Islands.

Although Oahu Is Known For Their Breathtaking Views Of Waikiki And Being The Party Island, My Favorite Place To And Unwind Is Actually A Lagoon In Waimanalo. Nestled Against The Ko’olau Sits A Somewhat Secluded Lagoon That’s Perfect For Little Ones. This Place Is Ideal For Enjoying Loved Ones And Offers A Great Backdrop For Pictures.

I Saved My Most Favorite Place For Last. I Absolutely Love Kauai. This Island Is Known As Thé Garden Island And That’s Such A Fitting Name. Kauai, In My Opinion Offers The Best Unearthly Views In Hawaii. If You Venture Up North You’ll Find The Enthralling Na Pili Coast And If You Head Out West You’ll Be Able To Capture Miles And Miles Of Beautiful Sand Beaches. The Best Part About Kauai Is That It’s Never Crowded. You Literally Can Pull Up Anywhere And It’s Like You Have Your Own Private Pièce Of Hawaii.
