A Bracelet to Remember
Handmade with love, care and consideration.
Thank you so much for supporting my journey, it means the world to me!
Having learned that my mother had a rare & aggressive form of dementia during my final year of university was a nightmare to say the least. On one hand, we had amazing support from the people in our lives & continue to be supported by these people, however, the government made it very difficult for me to live while caring for her. I had to leave my job that couldn’t have cared less about me, OSAP gave me nothing to live on, meanwhile the caregiver benefits I was granted, took 6 MONTHS to come in. From August 2019 to the beginning of the pandemic, I had to financially support myself as well as my mother, one of those ways was through making bracelets.
It doubled as therapy for the high stress times, and continues to be an outlet for me. Seeing people wearing the bracelets I’ve made makes me feel the love. I hope I can continue to share these little pieces of therapy with you.
