When I was younger, I was eighteen, and for the first time I heard a message about the second coming of Jesus Christ, it was fantastic. It created the hope for a wonderful new life that would last forever. There will be no pain, no fear, no disease, no death. I couldn't understand. And what if I fall, it won't hurt me? I thought. I guess I won't fall down and hit my knees when I'm perfect. And that's how I thought. Anyway, it was in such a spirit of enthusiasm, curiosity and great interest. We can really look forward to His coming. This is not a tragedy, but the best that could have happened to this world. The Lord Jesus leads us to pray, Come your kingdom. I believe He is also pleased.
I know there are different views on the subject of the second coming. Nevertheless, let's share this topic. It is from God's Word and will therefore be useful here. May Jesus bless us in this.
Certainty of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ - John 14,1-3; Titus 2,11-13.
Christ himself promised to come again. He told his disciples quite clearly.
(John 14,1-3.18; Revelation 22,12.20).
When someone promises something to someone, it is a commitment for him. Christ said he would come. That is our certainty. God will keep his promises.
The Second Coming of Jesus Christ was also spoken by the Apostles. They basically lived with this hope.
(1 Thessaloninans 4,14-18; Titus 2,11-13; Philippians 3,20-21; 2 Peter 3,2-13).
The hope of Jesus' second coming gave them the strength to endure all the hacks, troubles, and persecutions. That is why, with all their dedication and urgency, they preached the joyful news of Christ.
When Jesus entered the heavens, the angels also assured the disciples that this Jesus, who had departed from them, would return to them again. (Acts 1,9-11).
We are sure of his return. Everything Jesus said and promised was fulfilled. Therefore, His promise of return will also be fulfilled.
