Akcara Studio

Cara Calvert-Thomas is a visual artist, instructor, and self-proclaimed “serial dabbler” based in the High Desert of Southern California. Her work varies in media and scale, rendered in bold, cheerful colors, with subject matter relating mainly to science and nature, but also enjoys frequent forays into retro-pop culture imagery. Additionally, Cara authors and illustrates coloring books, and in 2022, launched an online boutique selling made-to-order clothing items featuring her original work. She is licensed and credentialed by the State of California as a visual arts educator.
