Aftercare

Tattoos

1-2 DAYS
Your fresh tattoo will be wrapped with Saniderm/ second skin, which is a medical grade, latex free, breathable & water proof bandage. Within the first days you may see some plasma & ink build up under the bandage- which is normal. Leave this protective barrier on for 1-2 days then remove it under warm running water. With clean hands, peel up an edge of the bandage and pull downwards (take your time to make sure you're not removing scabbing!)
** A small percentage of people may experience redness or skin irritation around the tattoo due to sensitivity to the medical adhesive. If this occurs, remove the bandage immediately.

1-3 WEEKS
After the bandage is removed, you may start gently washing tattoo daily with a fragrance-free soap (no scrubbing!) Lightly pat dry with a clean paper towel, then apply a thin layer of fragrance & alcohol free lotion to keep skin moisturized. Make sure there isn't a heavy layer of lotion leftover on top of the skin surface so that the skin can breathe. Scabbing and peeling is normal - do not pick or scratch at it! Avoid direct sunlight, pools/saunas & tight clothing during this stage.

RECOMMENDED SOAPS: Dial gold antibacterial, Cetaphil cleanser, Dr Bronners fragrance free, Cerave
RECOMMENDED LOTIONS: Hustle butter, Lubriderm Daily Moisture, Curel Fragrance Free lotion, Cetaphil, Coconut oil
DO NOT APPLY: Vaseline, Neosporin, Alcohol, Baby Oil

3-4 WEEKS
The skin surface should be mostly healed by now, but full recovery in the deeper layers could take longer. You may begin to apply a gentle sunscreen to protect the skin from the sun. Enjoy your new tattoo!

Aftercare

Permanent Makeup Brows & Lips

PMU BROW Aftercare Instructions:

Day 1 - blot the brows with a DAMP cool cotton pad or towel then be sure to follow up with a dry one and dab across each brow to ensure they aren’t damp.

Day 2 - Dampen your brows with cool water, use the non-scented soap provided to clean your brows. Rub lightly with your finger tip back and forth for about 10 seconds . RINSE OFF the soap and then blot dry.

*Keep skincare simple, put away your acids, retinols and vitamin c for at least 2 weeks. Avoid putting any skincare or makeup on your brow area for 2 weeks.

Day 2 -10 (or until completely healed) you will start to incorporate the ointment provided after washing 1 time a day. A tiny rice grain is all you need for both brows, over saturating with ointment can be detrimental to healing.
    •    Avoid saunas and long steamy hot showers and keep brows away from the pressure of the shower head. If water trickles down your brow be sure to dab them dry right away. The only time you will be truly submerging your eyebrows in water is when you wash them with the soap 1 time a day. You are to avoid working out/sweating for 7 days. You may start light workouts at day 5 but absolutely NO over heating or sweating. You want to keep the pores closed.
    •    Once the flakes have come off you are free to continue normal makeup routine, still keep acids away from brow but may use below.
    •    Be conscious of sleeping on your side as it can rub on the pillow and pull off pigment

*Healing is typically 2 weeks. Be sure to keep ointment in a safe place for second session use as well as remaining sanitary with each dip (use a q-tip).

Long term care:
•always use a good sunscreen on your eyebrows if you plan to be in sun for prolonged periods of time. Like hair color, the sun will fade the pigment in your brows.
•if you are planning a chemical peel, laser procedure or an MRI scan, please inform the technician of your microbladed eyebrows
•the use of retin-A/ tretinoin or any other rapid skin exfoliation products used regularly on the forehead area will cause pigment to fade prematurely.
•the use of chemical peels and acid peels regularly on forehead region will also cause fading or pigment.
•a touchup is recommended 10-18 months after the initial two sessions for pigment retention.
