My Top 3 Thrifting Tips
Rules I follow to thrift like a pro
Learning to thrift is a super personal experience that will vary depending on your style, but here are some tips that have helped me along the way!
Make a List of Stores
Know what stores are in your area and decide which ones you are going to get to know. Value village is great, but my go-to stores are always smaller, less busy spots like hospital charity shops and other non-profits. (I find they have more unique items)
Go Early & Go Often
Once you’ve established your go-to thrifting spots, it’s time to stake out your territory by regularly being one of the first in the store. Get to know when new stock comes out and if there are certain days that they get shipments in.
(You can always ask the staff too if you’re brave enough)
Have a Game Plan
I keep a list of pieces I’m looking for on my phone at all times so I can jot down any items I’d like to add to my wardrobe. It helps me stay focused while I’m in the store, and also helps me picture my style so I can find similar pieces that will compliment my style
