The film Blue Bayou, written, directed by, and starring Justin Chon, was produced unethically—taking the life story of my husband, Adam Crapser, without his permission. Upon its release in the fall of 2021, a thousand supporters boycotted the film. Chon and Focus Features have failed to genuinely support deported adoptees as they promised, and benefit financially from adoptees’ trauma. To this day, Chon has never apologized.
