If your hair isn’t responding to your new haircare - listen here!
Years of stress and damage to your scalp and hair aren’t going to disappear after one wash. Beautiful hair and a well balanced scalp take thought and effort.
If it’s been 3+ months of consistently using your products and your hair looks worse or has stayed the same. It’s time to check some things out.
1. Are you exclusively using Monat products? Using Monat shampoo and conditioner, but drugstore styling products is a recipe for disaster. Monat is trying to gently rid your scalp and follicles of buildup, but other products are continually recoating it with buildup. If you aren’t seeing results, it’s time to stick to JUST Monat.
2. Have you been doing weekly oil treatments? This is a MUST if your hair continues to struggle. Oil treatments balance scalp Ph, loosen heavy build up, and prep the scalp for hair growth. Oil treatments are recommended to be done overnight, but some people have found better results if you just put the oil in about an hour or 2 before washing. Experiment and see what your hair likes best!
3. Have you tried washing more frequently? When the buildup has been completely washed away. Then, work on spacing out washes.
4. Have you tried washing until you see suds? Suds usually don’t come on the first wash. But if you still aren’t seeing a rich, sudsy lather on the 2nd wash. Wash again. It may take several goes.
5. Try an ACV rinse: in a quart jar, mix 1/2 cup organic, raw ACV with 3 cups water. After shampooing and rinsing, pour jar over the roots and ends. Let sit for 5 minutes and condition on top. Then rinse.
6. Are it using your products correctly? Shaking to wake? Conditioning ends only? Shampooing roots and not ends?
7. Do you have hard water? Town water? You NEED a shower filter. They are around $50 on Amazon and worth every penny. (Check the link below for a $38 filter on Amazon) Hard water builds up on your scalp just like it lines your shower walls and plugs the drains over time.
8. Give it time and consistency!
