Diary Entry written by Valentina Tereshkova

Day 1

After training for this moment, I strapped myself in to the rocket and listen to the countdown. 5..4..3..2..1..Lift off. The rocket begins to shoot up in to the sky, with so much pressure pushing down on me. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. Imagining what could happen at this very moment. Hours go by and I'm un-strapping from my seat, I try to keep still and control myself but I kept drifting up. I glanced over at the window of the rocket, to see such a spectacular view, I knew I wasn't in earth anymore. Excitement and fear flew through my veins as I viewed the georgous moon ahead of me. I decided to get some rest and await the next day.

Day 2
I awoke this morning but also forgot I was in space. I had my small meal and began my tasks for the day. I kept in touch with the space station and informed them of my surroundings. I believe that space is such a wonderful place with some dark catches to it. I had so much pride in the rocket and knew how much I can do to help people learn about space. The day flew by once again so I strapped myself in and went to sleep, as I needed much rest for tomorrow.

Day 3 (Last day in space)
I got up today with an open mindset and prepared to seize the day especially as I am heading home tonight. I done my usual routine, had my strangely small meal and caught the space station up with everything going on. I felt ready to go home, with my family waiting for me. I was prepared and couldn't wait any longer to fly home and see my family. I wrote down my experience in my book for my future me to read when I get home. This was a once in a lifetime experience for me and can't believe this is happening. Night came so I prepared myself to fly back down to earth where I belong, I missed my family and couldn't wait to see them and tell them my experience. I flew back down to earth while on the radio to the space station, as I came out of the rocket, thousands awaited my arrival and cheered me on. I felt so much pride to go to space and represent Russia.
