Alec Dobson

Growing up, my parents instilled in me to always be kind and pull the gold out of people. I try and carry that superpower into each and every endeavor. I got into the beauty industry at the urging of a few friends, and at the time, I didn’t realize the impact hair could have on a person. I had found the one thing where I could use my love of helping people and turn that into a career.

As a previous stylist at a salon in Buckhead, I took a big leap in 2020 and decided to create my own business, August James Salon. I definitely had those thoughts of, “Can I do this?” and “Will people follow me?” But what I’ve learned through this process is that the fear doesn’t even begin to compare to the good on the other side.

I am so proud of how far my business has come in just
