Hi! My name is Liv, I am 23 and the creator behind Bear and Born. I am based on the beautiful East Sussex (England) coast, where I’ve lived my whole life!

Bear and Born began in 2020 after finishing my degree in illustration (graphic arts) during the covid-19 pandemic. Having taught a lot of pattern and surface design to myself, I realised I had a passion for turning my designs into fabric that could be used as practical but pretty items.

I had an interest in textiles after taking it for GCSE, but I am pretty much self taught in everything I do now bar the basics of sewing!

The eco credentials of Bear and Born is so important to me because of my passion for animals and the environment. I believe in using resources that have a positive impact on the planet, that do not just take or leave a negative impact on where we live, or others, such as creatures!
This means transparency is key and i highlight what fabrics have what impact on the environment, and why I favour organic and natural fabrics, and digital ink printing (that isn’t less impactful) for my designs to be printed on!

Aside from Bear and Born, you’ll usually find me outdoors, especially the seaside, doing some type of activity!
I have always loved animals and the countryside, and I love my dogs and cat.
