I was a teen mom, raised by a single mom, I didn’t grow up with money. I was considered a troubled teen in my small town and I had to branch outside my hometown to make things happen for myself! My son and I have truly grown up together. I’ve had to navigate my entire late teens & adulthood as a MOM! I knew I needed to create a life for us because I didn’t have any handouts, go to college, have anyone telling me what I should do or really have a path for my life — like most. I just knew I had to take care of my daughter. I worked in retail for awhile before I figured it out; I knew I didn’t want to work for ANYONE. It took me awhile to believe in myself because everyone told me “statistically” people like me aren’t meant to be successful. But I was on a mission to prove them wrong, prove myself wrong & show my daughter that WE CAN make shit happen no matter our circumstances.
