Stuck in them 20 somethings
Hi friends and family! I started out this decade by turning 20 on the 20th (only The Greats are born on the 20th 😇), and it has been an amazing ride. June 2022 marked the last year of my 20’s, and I want to go out with a bang! You’ve made such an impact on my life and I want to continue to make as many memories as possible with you.
DIRECTIONS: Below is a calendar list and brief description of where I want to go and things to do while there. Some trips/experiences are based around a holiday or event, so those dates are rather fixed. Click on the link within each month to sign up for them. Feel free to sign up for one or more! They are all open to being coed. Please check in with me if you want to bring a +1 to any trip/experience.
I hope that you’re able to save up on PTO, coins, and energy for the trip/experience! Within each trip, please sign up at least 3 months in advance so that affairs can be confirmed/paid timely. (*Pro tip: shop online through your fav airline’s loyalty program store to earn points to pay for a flight 🤗)
We are also in the middle of COVID, I will adhere to the travel laws/regulations of each destination and will update participants if there are any changes that need to be made.
Xoxo,
Brea
June - Birthday Trip
JALISCO OWES ME NOTHING!! What a way to set #StuckInThem20Somethings off. Britt, Miya, and Tonda brought me so much life. From the resort photoshoots, MX tequila and tacos, galavanting the city streets of Guadalajara and partying it up on private yachts in Puerto Vallarta. The Jose Cuervo tequila train was one for the books. Mexican memoriesssss>>>
July
This trip brought so many of my friends from different walks of life! We got lit on the party bus and turned it up a notch at the Linganore Summer Reggae Wine Festival. Drank some glorious wine and bussed a wine too!! Thanks for making this everything and more Ally, Anias, Antwain, Brandi, Brittney, Court, Jay, (Jazz in spirit), Khenti, L’Erin, Mel, Nija, Robia. Sage, & Toni.
August
A weekend with the boys! Much love to Kacy, Marcus, and Nelson a weekend in the 901. Everyday was something new and different; supported Black owned businesses/museums, the Chicken & Beer festival, and Beale Street.
September
Went up to the Jersey Shore with Britt, Brandi, Cay and Antwain (can’t forget the pups). We had a blast at the beach and doing boardwalk shenanigans.
October
Albuquerque, NM. Shout out to Alicia for such an adventurous weekend. Driving to Santa Fe to visit NM Museum of Art and Meow Wolf, chowing down on southwest food, hopping on the Sandia Tram, and up at the crack of dawn for the 50th Anniversary Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta!
November
I spent the most beautiful time in The Carolinas with my mom. It was a much needed mother-daughter trip where we got to hang out with our fav mother+daughter, Fleche and Chi 💖. While this may have not been my first trip alone w my mom or even to The Carolinas, this was my first time doing all of this together…moments to cherish forever
December - Half birthday
Oh my gosh, I can’t believe that I made it to five years owning a home. It’s kind of insane. Shoutout to all of my backyardigans who are at almost every function and of those who have been of ANY type of support (a cry on the couch, movie dates, dinner, study sessions, just being welcome in my home) - thank you. House of Gogo would be nothing without you. From the drinks to games to rekindling and connecting, y’all made this year’s holiday house party a night to remember.
December Sneaky Trip
Robia and I took over Seattle!! I swear we did everything possible within such a short timeframe in Emerald City! Experienced my first hockey game and had a lush time at the Climate Pledge Arena. We stayed at the Space Needle and was in the mix of the heart of Seattle. We went to Tacoma and Crystal Mountain to escape the city into some snowy greenery. Got to visit MoPop, which was one of the coolest interactive museums I have ever been to!
January
Seven Springs, PA. MLK (Black) Ski weekend was indeed a zoovie! Completed my first cabin trip with ski activities like none other - turn ups at the ski bar, comedy shows, and parties that ended at 4 AM 🤪. Thanks to Antwain, Brandi, & Britt for tagging along.
February
CIAA was just the perfect get away with all the Black excellence up the road! WSSU beat Lincoln for the Men’s 2023 championship. Spent some quality time with Sorors, especially my strolling LSs and got to meet some new ones! Shout out to Kendall, Jasmine, and Candice for making it a weekend to remember.
March
Surprisingly proud of my cooking lol. We made Caesar salad (dressing from scratch!), lobster macaroni and cheese (mine was steak!), and peanut butter- chocolate lava cake with strawberries on top! The experience was enjoyable by Kendall, Quenice, and L’Erin - where we wined (more like margarita’d) and dined. Cookology made the experience so smooth and seemingly easy. I will have to give the lava cake a whirl on my own!
April
Milan, Italy. Moving big, riding solo! Hopefully I will keep myself contained, but it’s giving go where the wind blows. Gonna mess around and do the noodle dance.
May
