There are some events that require reservations with restaurants or lounges. These places are sometimes hesitant to grant reservations for large groups. Some even require deposits and have waived them so I can keep meetups free. If a certain number of people RSVP and only a few actually show up, the venue may feel short changed after setting up spaces and giving our reservation extra attention. It can damage our reputation and make future reservations harder or require me to collect deposits.
In addition to this, most events have waiting lists of people who would actually like to go. It robs them of the experience to take a spot then not actually go.
Because of this the no show policy is as follows:
*3 no shows to larger events results in removal from the group.
*A no show to a reserved event results in instant removal from the group.
A no show is:
Cancelling within 3 hours of the event.
Not showing up at all.
RSVPing to a reserved event and not showing up.
I don’t want to discourage anyone from coming to events with rulese! But when it comes to reserved events specifically we have to respect our venues. Thank you!
