About The Candidate
Christian - Mother - Wife - Educator
I am married to my high school sweetheart (15 years) and together we have 2 beautiful daughters! Their level of sass is beyond whatever I had as a child, but they are a joy and a blessing. Sometimes I have to stop myself from staring at them all day because... well they are awesome and I love them so.
I began my teaching career as a First Grade Teacher at a rural K-8 school. While this part of my career path was unexpected I quickly realized I belonged in education! My grandfather was Superintendent of Schools of Hendry County and as a child my dream was to follow in his footsteps and have a mark on local education. I love my students and honor all teachers, support staff and administrators!
I have been a radio host, a community relations director for a multi-million dollar company, and a community advocate. At 34 I served as the first Hispanic President of our local Chamber of Commerce, where I sat on the board 5 years. I have had the honor of serving as a board member and volunteer for many organizations throughout SWFL. I’ve helped to start companies and earned the Clewiston Chamber of Commerce New Business of the Year Award. All of those pale in comparison to my most important accomplishment and for which I am most proud of: my sweet family.
I moved from private business to education because I wanted to be more present with my family. It was the best decision I ever made. I knew from the first day in the classroom that this was where I belonged! Now that my children are older, I can pursue a childhood goal - make an impact on local education!
Thank you for visiting, I am an open book, and I’d love to hear from you.
