BRASS CARE GUIDE

Some helpful FAQs and tips
As brass is becoming more and more popular in jewelry, (as well as home decor) it's important to understand it won't always shine like the day you bought it. Brass tarnishes or develops a natural petina over time.
For many this look is desired and a welcome style. For those who prefer their brass shiny, there are several things you can do to help slow down the metals need to petina and to clean it when it does.
I've attached a link below with helpful info on brass and several at home cleaning solutions. My personal favorite atm is Brasso! It smells but works so well! Please be careful using it around the clay.
My favorite home recipe is to soak it (a minute) in a solution of one part vingar (I used organic apple cider vinegar) to two parts water. I then lightly but quickly rub it with the rough end of a dish sponge and rinse it off after. Be aware that this causes micro abrasions as seen on the right side of the photo. Be sure to use something else if you don't like this look. I then dry the metal making sure no water droplets are left.
Optional: I also buff the pieces with 700+ grit sandpaper, going the same direction the whole time.
To help slow the natural petina process keep your earrings stored in a dry spot. Try to avoid leaving them or wearing them in humid environments (the bathroom while you shower, a sauna, pool etc). You can also go the extra mile by sealing them in a dry container of some sort.

⇶ DISCLAIMER: Please keep in mind that we do not offer refunds or exchanges if your brass becomes tarnished. This is a natural process that is inevitable, thank you for understanding!
