Self-care as an act of warfare: a Black women's reading group
A safe and radical space where Black women and non-binary people can draw on the works and legacies of Black feminist writers to generate strategies for self and collective care and liberation.
Held on the 3rd Thursday of month at a venue in central London. Free to attend. Spaces are limited. The group is open to all women (trans, intersex and cis) and non-binary people of Black African and Caribbean descent.
*This event is held online for the duration of Covid-19.
Donate your books
We want Black feminist books (and books written by Black women in general), books by women of colour, books written by QTIPOC (queer, trans and intersex people of colour - this includes books written by LGBTQIA+ people of colour), and books written for young people and children of colour of all genders.
If you have pre-loved books that are suitable, you can drop them off at:
- Housmans Radical Booksellers, Kings Cross
- The Second Shelf, Soho
- Spread the Word, Deptford, South London (drop off during the Albany Theatre opening times only).
Make sure to say that your books are for the Black Feminist Bookshop.
We are on the look out for more book donation drop off points. Are you a venue, business or community space that would like to help us out? Get in touch with us to discuss further. Preference goes to bookshops, community venues and radical feminist/queer/Black or people of colour spaces.
