About Us

Black Monogamous Lesbians (BML) was formed by Ngwe Beyla in April 2025.
Beyla is a paralegal by day and matchmaker by night. She holds a BA from the University of Denver and 007 status in ballroom. When she’s not voguing the house down she is creating her own vibrant community through her multidisciplinary art and sharing resources.
Through her work engaging with the community in LA, she heard dating horror stories from friends, and an overwhelming desire from lesbians for black love, with one other person. After swiping through the dating apps and meeting people in person on her own, with no luck, she realized there needed to be a space for monogamous Black lesbians to meet each other without all the noise.

BML is the space to come if you are a single, monogamous, lesbian, and most importantly Black, looking to date with intention. This space is open to our cis, trans & nb community. The age ranges for these events are between 22-50+. We vet each participant on our RSVP form to bring you your potential date or dates 👀

Currently BML hosts virtual speed dating events while we work to create partnerships with LGBTQ centers to hold in-person speed dating events for July and onward. To stay updated on future events follow our instagram page, all events & updates are posted there.
