“Dem Times”

“A trouble maker in high school, Samuel finds himself on a plane heading to Ghana; a different country, needless to say, a different life. His formative years have begun. These are ‘DEM TIMES‘.

The show is in the broader sense, a serialised teen odyssey, set within the closed-off microcosm of Ghanaian boarding school life. At its core, this is a cultural migration; a fish-out-of-water story stemming from an outsider’s identity crisis inside the Ghana educational ethos – where the school day begins before sunrise and ends after 9pm, and only after students have finished their homework (assuming chores have been completed too).”

“Destination Freedom Black Radio Days”

A live audio drama that picks up where the first nationwide African-American radio drama, produced in Chicago by Richard Durham more than sixty years ago, left off. The show walked a daring line between reform and revolution, and was shut down by its network in 1950, as McCarthyism and anti-communism tightened its grip on American broadcasting.

As well as drawing on the archive of Destination Freedom (now branded Destination Freedom Black Radio Days, this program illuminates a largely unknown, but important chapter in the history of human rights and tells how radio played its part from the very beginning. That boundary-breaking program, Destination Freedom, dramatized the lives of great figures in African-American and other people of color past and present, continues in its spirit with all-new scripts. This series honors and expands on that theme. Part of the Broadway Podcast Network.

“Played.”

From the Black Widow Podcast’s world of sound, we introduce "Played" an interactive audio experience where you decide what’s next! We have a ton of black widow diaries just sitting and collecting dust. I thought it would be a great idea to give the male perspective to some of your favorite episodes while creating a whole new storyline. So I asked the lovely patrons on the Black Widow Patreon page what were their favorite episodes and after tallying all of the votes, we have the first three episodes of the new series: Played.

These episodes are based on the dairies Oops Oh My, Krave, and a brand new episode called “Imaginary Friend”. When Tevin meets Krave at a coffee shop, a planned sneaky link gets derailed by a text from Zaida. After a night of intense sex and unraveling emotions, Zaida is unclear on what she wants to happen between her and Tevin. What happens next, is completely up to you all!

You, the fans, get to vote each week to determine how things play out with Tevin via a link shared on patreon. You pick from a list of diaries and the writers, Mahogany and Eric Dizzy, will work them into the storyline.
