About

Turn Your Gray Skies Blue!

Hi, my name is Christie, and I'm in the process, the very beginning of the process, of getting a substance abuse treatment program started in my community. I've wanted to do something like this for years, and it's finally going to happen, not exactly sure when, but I promise it's coming!
Our mission is simple, to make a difference in the lives of the people we serve and in the communities that we are going to be serving in. It is our belief that with the right personalized treatment and other services, the people we treat will overcome this disease and be able to live stable, productive lives. In turn this will make a positive impact on the community, with drops in crime, sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS, and a decrease in new cases of Hepatitis B & C. The dream is to make as big a difference in as many lives as possible.
In the meantime, I will be writing a blog about the newest treatment options, how the disease progresses, things that you can start doing once you decide that you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, even if you don't have a specific quit date in mind, and anything else that I come across or think of that could be beneficial to even one person who may come across this site.
I also plan to have a forum for anyone who needs to talk, get things off of their minds/chests, or maybe has some questions. The only rule as at this moment is be respectful and not to judge or make anyone feel guilty, stupid, or to upset anyone who is using this site. As cliche as it may sound, I want this to be a safe place, where we help each other and everyone feels welcome. I will also be posting videos and links to any information that I think may help or be of interest to you.
I will update you about the progress of the treatment center as it develops. Together we can change the way people look at addiction and addicts as a group! I look forward to getting to know any and everyone who is in need of this website/community! Be safe my friends!
