My top picks for solo travel
My top cities for first time solo travellers
Solo travel to Florence
I love this place so much! It is perfect for solo travellers. I always wanted to explore more of Italy and my love for food, architecture, wine, warm weather fits well in this place. I explored Florence in 2017 on my own and spend three days travelling around. The great thing about traveling solo is that you are never really alone, people around are always curious about you.
Note: As great as people are, you always have to be mindful they are not always genuine so be wise and cautious, especially at night time.
Tip: When travelling solo male/female it is best you learn a bit about the local culture and try to fit in. I always check out YouTube vids, read online articles and browse through books just so I can familiarise myself.
Budapest
Budapest is such a beautiful city, full of life every where you go and very popular with the young tourists. What I did notice on Budapest was the cleanliness, eco friendly environment.
Tips: If you like the weather warm like me, I would recommend you travel between June-September.
Things to do: Always worth checking the events calendar before travelling and see what interests you. They always seem to have activities, festivals happening through the year.
Be mindful this is also a hot spot for stag/hen do's. I went with one my best friends and we happen to bump whilst on a night out into the group of guys we met on the plane on our way to Budapest. If you not a fan of a busy night out out the I would suggest staying away from the hot spot of the club strip.
There are many areas you can go out for dinner and enjoy the local culture in a more calm mood.
