Sam Stuart, Trauma-informed Personal Trainer, Pregnant and Postpartum Athleticism Coach, LCSW-C

As a licensed mental health therapist with 10 years of working experience in the field and as a fitness coach for the past 6 years, I understand that emotions are experienced in the mind and in the body.

As a trauma-informed personal trainer, I am passionate about helping clients process emotions and reconnect with their bodies through healing and embodied movement.

I can’t effectively do this work without an acknowledgement and awareness of how my identities, roles, and privilege intersect with how I interact with myself and others. I am cisgender, white, middle class, able-bodied, and queer. I will never be the expert on your body and I will work collaboratively with you to promote healing through consent, nervous system regulation, and mind-body connection.

Client Testimonials

“Sam’s training and emotional support lifted me up during one of the hardest times of my life. She was the perfect person to go to when I wasn't super confident about my fitness, and I needed a non-judgemental space to find my comfort zone again. Sam taught me tips about form and technique that I still use to this day. She reminded me to breathe deeply, to go at my own pace, and that I’m stronger than I thought!”

"Sam is incredibly knowledgeable about how the postpartum body should be cared for. I wish I had found her and her group sessions earlier on in my recovery journey. My time with her in one-on-one sessions reinvigorated my love for movement and physical challenges. Since my training with her began, I have reflected on how strong I really am, tried new things, and gave me the push to love my body gently and deeply. I recommend her coaching for any birthing body!"

“Sam has been so knowledgeable and helpful in my pregnancy, and now postpartum, journey. She encouraged me to focus on my breathing and slow and controlled movements during my pregnancy workouts with modifications as needed, which helped me to have a very intentional and positive labor and delivery. She continues to check in on me now two weeks postpartum and helps to remind me that slow is fast in terms of my recovery and to enjoy this time with our sweet baby boy!”
