What is British Chinese Biz?

British Chinese Biz is an organisation that aims to:
⭐ Support British Chinese owned businesses
⭐ Showcase British Chinese culture
⭐ Advocate for British Chinese and ESEA (East and South East Asian) racial justice and equality.  

It is founded by Faith and run by sister duo Faith and Hannah.

Faith is British Born Chinese (BBC). She is the project manager and social media coordinator of British Chinese Biz. She is also a speech and language therapist and illustrator.

Hannah is British Chinese, born in Hong Kong. She is the business directory manager and administrator of British Chinese Biz. She is also a piano teacher and a cellist.

Together, Faith and Hannah aim to support the British Chinese and ESEA community through this voluntary work.

Inabela

Inabela’s handwoven facemasks are made by artisan weavers in the Philippines whose livelihood have been threatened by the ongoing pandemic. The fabrics are weaved using traditional methods. Purchasing one of their face masks help the artisan weavers and their families keep their livelihood and preserve the art of inabel-weaving.

De Ziremi is a Chinese children's bookshop based in the UK. They are committed to helping children find joy in learning Chinese through reading! Their stock is carefully chosen to suit a large variety of households and they are always adding new books. Amy Pix

Amy is an illustrator and graphic designer from London. She specialises in mixed media pieces using watercolour, ink, pencil and digital art. Amy's work explores the meeting of East and West, influenced by her British-born Chinese upbringing. She aims to create uplifting, playful pieces celebrating everyday life as a member of the East and South East Asian community.
She is also a co-founder of the grassroots movement besea.n, Britain’s East and South East Asian Network, where she works with five other people to push for fairer and broader representation of East and South East Asians.

Helen is the founder of Helga Jewellery. She is British Chinese and lives in Paris, France. Her specialty is using freshwater pearls in her jewellery designs for the modern day person.

Jason Prints

Jason started his business to link his passion for design with his Chinese heritage to create suitable gifts for the Chinese community who may like something that reminds them of “home”. He has a range of location prints, greetings cards and Lunar New Year fai chun and is open for commissions.

Kitchen Pan

Xinyue Pan started Kitchen Pan a year ago as a space to house her cooking antics and doodles. She started making zines and prints in lockdown, opening up a little shop in December last year. 2021 is the year of the ox. Xinyue’s Lunar New Year print is a not so subtle f*!& you to 2020… If you are familiar with the zodiac story, you will know that the ox came second to the rat in the Great Race after the rat hitchhiked a ride on the ox's back and then snatched first place.
Each print is a watercolour/pen digital print on A4 giclée german etching 310gsm textured paper and stamped with a Kitchen Pan seal.

Natalie runs this small prints business that started with bespoke pet portraits but recently introduced greeting card designs and food drawings that are influenced by her Hong Kong upbringing and background. Her card designs are filled with puns and loving sentiments to create smiles and happiness for your loved ones. Her aim is for her prints to generate joy and nostalgia and educate those who are wanting to learn more about Asian food and culture.
