meet the maker

hi, I’m gianna!

I am 23 years old and I currently live in NJ, but I grew up in Peoria, Arizona, and my heart will always be in the desert. I love dogs (well, all animals), coffee, red wine, & good music. I am a Taurus, an empath, and a dog mama. I’m also a one-woman shop, so I do absolutely everything for burn baby burn on my own- and although it can be very stressful at times, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am also a full time nanny for 3 kids!

I always wanted to open up my own online shop, but for years, I could not come up with a unique idea that was true to me & my style, that other people would also want. In 2017, one of my friend’s birthdays was approaching, and I was stumped on what to get her. I personally love when people put a lot of thought into a gift, or make it themselves, so I knew I wanted to get her something that no one else was going to get her. She had just gotten a puppy & moved into a new house, so I knew I wanted to make her something for her house. At the craft store, I always loved the wood slices, but I had never heard of wood burning. I immediately pictured her dog on a wood slice, but I had no idea how to make that vision come true; so I started doing some research, and after watching a few videos, I ordered graphite paper, wood, and a wood burning tool. I traced the picture of her dog onto the wood, and then burned it- and I was surprised it actually looked so good! A lot of the time, I have an idea in my head, but the end result isn’t always exactly what I was picturing- but this was, and I immediately fell in love with it. I, of course, had to them make myself one of my pup, Millie, and then a bunch of people started asking me about ordering one. It was right at the start of the holiday season, and I was blown away when I received over 50 orders for Christmas. After that, I opened up an Etsy shop, and I have expanded so much since then! I had no idea what I was doing, but I knew I loved it, so I figured it out (slowly, but surely. I’m still figuring things out honestly!). I truly have found my passion in this little shop of mine, and I can not thank you enough for supporting it!
