Lavender Dusk

An interview

Lavender Dusk is an interview and media project I used to showcase my creative masculine and feminine energies at play

Artist’s Reflection:

“This media project and writing piece is a full display of my masculine and feminine characters. I feel so playful and strong. I decided to do a three-way interview because I’ve been having honest conversations with myself for the past 14 months and I feel that I can see both sides. In the middle is my essence, my truest form, constantly malleable and synthesizes with the two characters to create the person that is Jamice. Lavender is the Leo Sun for sure; she is flashy, fun, loud, happy, and fearless in everything that she does. She takes life head on and she is a true leader. Mr. Müstosh is my Virgo Mercury. “You put the work in and you reap the benefits.” I have upped my discipline, I’m more strict with my time and my heart. I speak up for what I want and when I need to; say what I need to say, nothing more, nothing less.

As far as the media, I have always wanted to sew and I finally got my sewing machine so I thought I’d introduce my new hobby in a fun way. Incorporating fabric into the two looks we’re perfect, I mean come on. I love these looks. The fabric mustache with the cutout dress was a perfect way to showcase my masculine side without taking away from my true style, which honestly, is always changing. The purple eyebrows with the full tonal purple look is just (chef’s kiss). It actually made me feel more masculine than the mustache look. I also chose the textured background because I’ve been feeling so nostalgic, experimental, and groovy. It reminded me of those old portraits that you would go to an actual photo studio to get done. I just love this project. Thank you.”

Felina

A vignette

Felina is a 110-word vignette to debut my 2023 creative portfolio. Available now to read on my blog.

Artist’s Reflection:

“Like most of my projects, I wrote Felina in one go; however, I held off on posting it for a while. At the time I wrote this, I was in my hiss stage. Reluctant to change. I felt really unsure of myself because I didn’t know this person I saw generating before me. And because I didn’t know her, I didn’t trust her. I’ve taken the last few weeks to lean into being an outdoor cat. To being perceived and caring a lot less about the story people may tell. I trust my instincts, my taste, and the people I have around me. I haven’t edited this piece since the day I wrote it but I have edited my lifestyle that’s the most important. I felt nervous about the photography. It’s the first of something new which always brings a lot of nerves but also a lot of excitement. I feel relieved.”
