The Brazão (Coat of Arms) and the Title of Casa dos Fidalgos (House of the Nobles) was issued by the council’s of nobility in Lisbon to the Barreto’s through Queen Maria II and King Dom João VI, for dedicated service by members of this family for three generations. This Brazão is recorded in the book ‘Tesouro de Nobreza’ kept in Lisbon’s “Tourro deTombo”
