Catherine "Cat" ~ CEO & Owner of Cat Eye Beauty

Cat has been in the beauty industry since 2018, when she moved to Australia from England. She started as an apprentice, working in a small nail salon next to her school, doing mani/pedis, while she completed her SACE.

After graduating, she studied a Diploma of Nursing, whilst working across 2 salons in the Eastern and Western suburbs. This is where she became a Senior Beautician and built up her services and clientele further. She also completed a Classic & Russian Volume Lash Extensions course in June 2020, with Le Lash Beautique.

She opened her studio, Cat Eye Beauty, on 1st May 2022. Simultaneously, starting a job as a Blood Nurse on a casual basis. (One thing about Cat, is that she likes to keep herself busy!) She now specialises in natural nail care and bespoke, hand-drawn nail designs. Using Korean & Japanese high quality, non-toxic products, she wants the best for your nails!

Each year she completes a minimum of 1 new nail course, to keep up with the newest advancements in the nail industry. In 2022 she completed a Soft+Hard Gel Application Workshop with Straight To The Point Nails & Education. In 2023 she flew to England to complete 'The Ultimate E-File Course' with Willow Academy as well as doing a couple online seminars with DGel and JinB (Korean gel brands), and business courses with Brittany Louise Coaching and Tayla Coaching. In 2024, a few more courses with DGel ✨

She also became an Ambassador for Luna Beauty Store Australia in 2023, who provide the best education and products for your services. She prides herself on continued professional education, development and growth. So you know you're in the right hands (quite literally)!

Silly little facts about me:
- I have two Cats, a Husky and a Bearded Dragon (a lover of all animals, but definitely a crazy cat lady deep down)
- I love reading, fantasy and romance genres are my favourites currently
- I spend most of my free time hanging out with friends, family or my boyfriend; trying new food places or doing fun activities
- I love a good yap/gossip sesh, but I can also do quiet, relax sessions as well. Whatever you're up for on the day of your appointment 🫶

A quick guide to my services

Acrylic (EMA)

Acrylic can be overlayed over your natural nail or a tip extention can be added for extra length, this can be anything from short to XXL. It is the strongest medium I use, and it's highly durable. However it is not very flexible and can feel heavier than other products.

Builder Gel/Soft Gel

Builder gel in a bottle (BIAB) is a soft gel used to overlay natural nails. I use a high quality, non-toxic Korean gel, to create a structure that is sturdy and flows well with the natural nail.
Builder Gel is a good alternative to acrylic for those with allergies or those who prefer something lighter and flexible. However, it is not as durable as acrylic and cannot be used for extentions.

Gel Polish

Using Willow manicure techniques, I prep meticulously and paint the nail smoothly. I use a combination of highly pigmented Korean and Japanese gels for your choice of colours.

Gel Polish goes over natural nails and can last up to 2 weeks. It is the most lightweight option, however it is more prone to breaks and chipping.

Nail Art

I hand-draw all of my designs, and provide custom pieces regularly. Nail art can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 6 hours (the longest I've ever done so far 💪). So choosing the correct service is vital, to ensure we have enough time to create something beautiful! What kind of Press-ons do you offer?
• I offer both regular Gel and acrylic press-ons (1st Acrylic Press-ons in SA!) depending on what look you are after.

How are your press-ons priced?
• My press-ons are priced like all my regular services for ease, plus $15 for the press on kit, included in the price. Example: Gel press ons - $40 (like a gel manicure) + $15 press-on charge, if nail art was wanted then it is priced exactly like my regular nail services $1/min. You can request a quote for a particular set you're interested in by contacting me directly.

What is the difference between normal press-ons and custom press-ons?
• My press-ons are sized specifically to perfectly fit your nail beds, we discuss shape and length in a consultation also, so they are made exactly to your liking. You can choose to have hand-drawn art on a set of nails you get to keep forever. I use high quality, cruelty-free, non-tox products, unlike the plastic low quality press-ons you can buy in shopping centres.

Is there any limit to what I can request?
• You can request anything your heart desires! I do not draw photo realistic images and that's about it. Anything else is available x

What is the wait time on press-on orders?
• Due to the high number of bookings and orders, the current wait time is 2-3 weeks from the consultation. In some instances this can be expedited, please reach out for more info. However, I only take one press-on order a month currently so get in as soon as possible for a consult if you need yours doing for a specific event.

Klaus

My 'first born' outside of family pets, Klaus is my first baby that I could call my own. He's always been a crazy, energy-filled, curious guy, but is a lot more calm now he has a friend (Úna).

Likes: Chin scratches, dangly string toys and eating things he shouldn't
Dislikes: Being held for a long time and Úna leaving mess in the litter box

You can usually see him in the salon outdoor enclosure curled up on the top of his cat tree or watching birds.

Úna

Angel Baby of the salon, but don't be tricked by her cute looks, she's mischievous and loves to get Klaus in trouble.

Likes: Chirping at everything & eating Klaus's food
Dislikes: Keeping her litter tidy & sharing

You can see her in the salon's outdoor enclosure chasing leaves or relaxing in her hammock 🍂

Lewis

The newest addition to the family, Lewis is a Labrador X Great Dane and with his size comes a really deep bark. But don't let him scare you, he's just terrified of someone coming to the door (aren't we all?).

Likes: Sitting on people like a lap cat & being around someone at all times
Dislikes: The doorbell & Opal blocking his path in the house

When you're leaving after your appointment, he might be looking for a bitta love and a few pats if you're up for it.

Opal

The queen bee of the house, Opal, a fluffy ball of attitude. She's very aloof and will rarely open an eye to see who's coming in and out of the house, she doesn't really care. She doesn't really like anyone, human or animal, with Lewis being the occasional exception. So unfortunately no pets for her from strangers.

Likes: To howl at the dinner table & her squirrel toy
Dislikes: Someone being in her personal bubble & being brushed

You can spot her occasionally walking past the bottom of the stairs to see who's come in or from the indoor landing, you can see her laying in the living room corner, soaking up the sun.

Cinder

The OG, he's been around the longest! Cinder is our only outdoor cat, as he is too lazy to be a hunter he'd rather be a prince and sit with the birds in the sun all day and eats an ungodly amount of cat food (he's a bit round). He loves people and other animals, but hates his cat housemates, so he stays well away from the upper floor.

Likes: Cheek scratches (he may drool he loves them so much), sunbathing and food
Dislikes: Not being let out immediately upon asking, Klaus

You might catch him sunbathing in the garden as you come down the path, or he may even follow you to the door and circle your legs looking for attention and love.
