A Tailored Sunflower in Human Form
I SING. I ACT. I WRITE. 90s Baby. 21st Century Woman
Hi there! I am Chelsea Johnson a Los Angeles based Singer/Songwriter/Actress from Frisco, TX who is obsessed with spreading joy and shoe shopping! I have been singing and writing songs since adolescence. I released my very first EP, Baby Girl, in 2018. It contained a collection of originally penned songs, both R&B and Pop variety. My latest single "She Ain't Here" is about shedding old skin and breaking habits to truly embrace one's worth.
I have performed at a variety of venues including the NAACP Image Awards and Whisky-A-Go-Go. My original song "Stretch" was featured on the Mid-Season finale of CW's “All-American” last December. I hold my BFA in Theatre and I have performed as the lead in shows such as Into The Woods, The Addams Family, and For Colored Girls!
For six years I penned my own column in the Pasadena Journal; during quarantine, I started a new blog: Tailored Sunflower.
I also host a film-reviewing podcast called SheaButter&Popcorn! Listen every Friday, available wherever you get your podcasts!
