Hiiiiiii. I’m Jasmine Parks, transdisciplinary and multi-medium artist, founder of Childlike Creative, current Master of Architecture candidate at the University of Tennessee, and twenty-something who rarely makes the long story short. But you can just call me Jaz.

I find children to be my favorite population of people to be around. They are wise, candid, honest, bold, and they believe they can do anything and be anything or anyone. They decide to do something, and then they do. I am inspired by their resilience, reliance on intuition, and playful experimentation and simple discovery of what it is like to be a human in the world through questioning and doing. They are constantly experimenting and responding—a messy, open conversation and negotiation for navigating life.

My undergraduate degree in Child and Family studies coupled with my first Masters degree in Philosophy has resulted in an interesting personal and professional approach to making. Childlike Creative is both the manifestation of my personal ethos for making and the name of my online shop for all of the beautiful things i will create.

Thank you so much for being here! I’m so glad you are. I hope to approach life with a curious, playful, and intuitive spirit—moving through the world as boldly and shamelessly as the youngest among us do. And may that spirit inform the way I design. And make. And love. And live. As a designer, teacher, artist, architect, lover, daughter, sister, and friend.

After all, I’m convinced we’re all just big kids on the inside anyway.
