BRAYDON WILLIAMS
Climbing for the kids of Nepal
This May Braydon will be taking on the challenge of climbing Mt. Rainier in hopes of raising awareness and funds for the children of Ghat. He will be joining a team of experienced mountaineers on a three day attempt to summit the Mountain. Ghat is a small region near Mt. Everest, the tallest peak in the world. The area around it leads to extremely remote villages that were devastated due to earthquakes in 2015. Children from these villages take a 2 hour trek to Ghat for school every day and bring with them little food for them to eat. The Apa Sherpa Foundation is dedicated to helping feed these young children and help raise money for the schools and teachers of Ghat so that they can continue to help educate the children.
What is Mt. Rainier?
At 14,411 feet, Mount Rainier towers 8,000 feet above surrounding Cascades peaks and is the most heavily glaciated peak in the lower 48 states at 35 square miles of snow and glaciers Mount Rainier ranks fifth in height of all mountains in the contiguous U.S. People call Mt. Rainier the stepping stone into the mountaineering world, and many famous climbers that started on that mountain go on to climb mountains such as Everest. Climbing this mountain has been a dream of Braydons for some time. While facing this task, he aims to also help raise awareness for the conditions of Ghat.
The goal
These kids currently don’t have hot meals at school. With as little as $1.50 You can feed a child for a whole day. The teachers are paid only $5.60 daily completely off of charitable donations. Help Braydon raise awareness and funds for the teachers and children of Ghat. Any amount of money will greatly help their cause and 100% of the proceeds will be going to the foundation. If you aren't able to donate sharing this link still greatly benefits the cause too!
