Sega has announced that they are developing a brand new 2D Sonic game titled "Sonic's Time Warp Adventure". The game is set to release later this year and will feature classic 2D gameplay with a new twist.
In "Sonic's Time Warp Adventure", players will take control of Sonic as he travels through time and visits various locations from past Sonic games. The game will feature classic stages from Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, and 3, as well as newer stages from Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces.
The twist in this game is that Sonic will have the ability to manipulate time and space, allowing him to travel between different eras and even alternate realities. This will introduce new gameplay mechanics, such as the ability to freeze time, rewind time, or even split the screen into different dimensions.
The game will also feature a new time trial mode, where players can compete with each other to see who can complete each stage the fastest. Sega has also teased that there will be a secret final boss that can only be unlocked by collecting all of the time crystals hidden throughout the game.
