Hi, I’m Coco Noel, the Co-Owner, aka Master Taster for Coco Cares! I’m a lovable, playful seven-year-old Bichon Frise.  Some people think after meeting me that I’m a high-maintenance dog, but my Mom loves and cares for me so much that she makes sure I have the best.  This is why CoCo Cares was started.

Late into my puppy phase, my Mom noticed I was allergic to chicken. Any dog food with chicken or chicken meal would make me itch like crazy. So she decided to start making my dog food. Talk about tasty!! I love it! The food is so fresh and delicious. My mom says it is healthier for me because it is all-natural with no preservatives, additives, or byproducts. All I taste is love, and I always look forward to feeding time! I also have a lot more energy to chase after the rabbits in my yard!

I share the same birthday as my Mom.

During COVID, I was a P.A.L dog. I helped kids improve their reading skills by listening to them read to me via Zoom.

My favorite toy is Lamb Chop.

My favorite holiday is Halloween because I get to dress up with my Mom and pass out treats!

Hello, I'm Lindsey, the proud owner of Coco Cares and the mom of Coco Noel! The inspiration behind Coco Cares stemmed from my deep love for Coco and my desire to ensure she enjoyed mealtime while receiving the necessary nutrients.

During her late puppy phase, Coco experienced frequent itching and developed noticeable tear stains. Upon closely monitoring her diet, it became evident that ingredients containing chicken, chicken meal, or chicken flavor triggered her itching.

I transitioned her to exclusively beef-flavored kibbles, but she didn't consume her entire meal during feeding time. Subsequently, I introduced high-quality dehydrated dog food, which she initially enjoyed. However, her interest waned over time.

After conducting thorough research and consulting with her vet, I decided to prepare her food at home. I’m an engineer by day and previously owned a baking company, so hours of research, adjusting measurements, and precise preparation went into crafting the recipe for Coco Cares.  Since then, Coco has rediscovered her love for feeding time, consistently leaving an empty bowl. Not only does she relish her meals, but she also benefits from fresh, locally sourced produce and meats that you and I would consume.

I'm excited to share CoCo’s Original Recipe with all the dogs in Hampton Roads. Our furry companions give us their unwavering love every day, so why not provide them with the best?

1. What is Coco Cares?

Coco Cares provides a meal prep service tailored for small dogs, offering meal toppers for dogs over 25 lbs.

2. Are you licensed and insured?

Yes!! We are licensed by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and we are insured.

3. How is the food prepared?

Meals are prepared using fresh local produce and meats. The cooking process involves gentle cooking and steaming to retain maximum nutritional value. The meals or toppers can be served directly from the refrigerator, and frozen meals can be thawed before serving.

4. Can I give my puppy Coco Cares?

While Coco Cares can be given to puppies, it's recommended as a topper rather than a full meal, as puppies have different nutritional needs during their growth phase. Our recommendation is to consult with a vet for guidance.

5. How long can I store Coco Cares?

The meals and toppers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks and in the freezer for up to 2 months.

6. How many varieties are available?

As of now, there is one registered product called "Coco's Original Recipe." The company is working on introducing a second variety in the future.

7. Can I give as a full meal to my dog?

Coco Cares was designed to be a full meal prep service for small dogs under 25lbs. If used as a full meal we recommend slowly switching your dog's current food with Coco Cares. We also highly encourage talking with your vet to make sure your dog can make a full transition to Coco Cares. When used as a full meal, a daily vitamin supplement should be given to incorporate any nutrition that might not be available through the natural ingredients used in our recipe.
