CommUNITY Doulas

The CommUNITY Doulas Project is designed to increase and provide doula education, support, and services for marginalized communities.

The mission of the project is: To demonstrate the value and need for doula care in communities, by providing longer-term community care support with the services doulas offer.

We aim to make the case that this kind of programming is a feasible model that can be replicated as a long term systemic solution to many of the societal challenges and inequities in marginalized communities, that ultimately stem from structural poverty and lack of support.

Our vision is that doulas, and the industry more broadly, will serve as one long term solution in nurturing more holistic systems of community-led care in marginalized communities.

CommUNITY Doulas is a project on MakeWay's shared platform, which provides operational support, governance, and charitable expertise for changemakers. The shared platform enables more time and money to go towards achieving greater impact. MakeWay is a national charity that builds partnerships and solutions to help nature and communities thrive together.
