The Indian Society and it's Deal with Modernization

Humans have always tend to keep up with the people, they felt most understood with or have the same ideology as the person has. This made it easier for a person to understand their behaviour and enjoy their company, if there is another person who feels about something the same way. This notion has been found in various societies around the world that a group of people having the same idea of a matter unites them but the most interesting and igniting would be about the Indian Society.

The Indian society with thousands of years of history, Archaic proofs, different beliefs, several religions, cultures and languages. It is definitely a hot topic to discuss. Geographically talking, in the olden ages, it was a huge land in South Asia across the river Indus which was a river separating the middle east and this land. Ultimately the people who lived across the river Indus became Hindus. Also world’s first and oldest religion was born here dating back to 7000 B.C which is Santana Dharma. As the foreigners arrived in India and explored this land, cultures and food. Their experience came as interesting and diverse. In one part of India a ritual was a good omen while in other it was a bad omen, just like that one part was pure vegan and other would be eating flesh normally. So it was interestingly strange to the explorers who visited India.

It brings this topic and it’s relation to Indian modern society. Today, Modernization has hit every country, class, community and home. People are exploring and trying new things which does not seem normal or traditional in the world, they are living in. The patriarchal system is resisted everywhere, the class system is resisted everywhere, the political monopoly is resisted everywhere and sexual and gender identities fighting for their rights, with all this resistance to the so called archaic Laws and beliefs, there comes change. You would find people who would support this modernization and also who would oppose the idea of women stepping out alone at night, Men being not strong, a caste of people being self- reliant and educated, little girls playing with boys or a little boy playing like little girl. The Monarchy, Misogyny and patriarchy being challenged in India. It still has not made it to the rural life of India. Women, Men and the oppressed communities, all struggling for their rights and survival in this vicious rule of prejudiced society. Even in the urban side, all of it reflects itself. India has come a long way from being called a country of serpents to a global market, Famines to production hubs and Taj Mahal to IT giant of the world. We still have a long way to go not just for the world, but for our people, for people who don’t want anyone’s approval to live their life as they want to live it. They don’t want society’s consideration. This will be a cake walk, if we know our true enemy, not people but these above-mentioned evils. Peace and power to y’all.

The most watched movie of the year 2021 and why

According to several movie critics and sites like IMDB and Rotten tomatoes, Spiderman – No way home is the most successful movie of the year 2021. The movies is directed by John watts known for his marvel, Spiderman movies and other superhero movies. He has directed the previous spider- man movies with Tom Holland as the main lead along with Zendaya (MJ) and Jacob Batalon (Ned) as supporting actors. The film was released in December, 2021 and was a super- hit on the box office. The Film was made with an approx. budget of $200 Million But as crazy as it may sound, Movie earned $1.08 Billion Overseas, breaking records and blowing minds with the massive success.

Now, you might be wondering what is the big deal. The answer is, it was not just our friendly neighbourhood Spiderman aka Peter Parker but also the mighty appearance of Dr. Strange ( Benedict Cumberbatch) in spiderman movie series. The audience was allured by the idea of our favourite magician showing his charm in spiderman movies and also bringing the Multiverse of Madness into it. There were a lot assumptions and critical thoughts given at the time but nothing could keep the audience away when this multiverse brought all the three Spidermans together. That was the twist, it gave to the series, so people could connect all those years of Spiderman movies. Our favourite (Toby Maguire), (Andrew Garfield) and (Tom Holland) brought the best action screenplay and tension that the audience expect from the Marvel Movies. The screenplay was just Perfect because when we think about colliding so many different stories, we may create a mess but it did not happen here. The movie kept rolling smoothly and covering all aspects and appearances which really gained a lot of recognition and allocades. If we talk about the Graphical and Visual representation in the movie, it nailed it too. From simple Spiderman costume to a complete AI suite or Destruction of property to Dr. Stranger’s Mirror dimension. It all felt so amazingly realistic and cool.

So, Is it all about all the superheroes coming together in one movie? Nope, it also came with some real badass villains which would blow your minds (No spoilers). The internet was shocked by the return of the greatest villains, Doctor Octopus ( Alfred Molina). In the trailer of the film, Dr. Octopus says “Hello Peter” and the internet looses it with thousands of memes, boards and parodies. Everyone on social media, it was the talk of the town and then came a picture of three Spiderman actors posing like the timeless spiderman meme. It hit the nostalgia button and sent people in awe. Clearly, the team made a huge hype and promotional efforts among the audience which lead to the succession of the movie. The audience was already excited and waiting for the movie to hit the theatres. The film proved to be a phenomenon as a superhero action movie with a pinch of comedy the time it made it to the screens. All aspects of film- making were praised by movie critics. So, we can say that the movie made a good name for itself and outran every other movie, just at the end of the year. Spiderman- No way home was a great result of great efforts.

Web series that you should watch before deciding your bests!

In today’s entertainment industry, Web Series have proven themselves to be incredibly Fascinating and making the audience glued to their seats. Theatres being closed, the entertainment needed to be served. Then came a tremendous shift to the Online sources of entertainment which are these OTTs. People looked at the content and enjoyed, and then it just started getting better and better. As a Series and movies geek, I am here to share my “OPINION” (also most of the audience and critics). I have deliberately watched and reviewed all small details of these series. Hope you agree, here we go.

10. Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan

Starting with this action- thriller, Jack Ryan is an Amazon Original. John Krasinski as the main lead, playing the character of up and coming CIA analyst. The story starts with him discovering a very potential lead and then the Department’s acknowledgement towards him and his take on the terrorists to save his nation from attacks. It little bit also displays the sweet old rivalry between CIA and FBI. The plot of the series gets under your skin with Developed nations to the Middle east to Europe and other third world . All the guns blazing, lots of deals and contracts, it is indeed an exciting series. How do international tips and leads travel and are worked? The series has 2 seasons. It’s a great series if you like action but in a more realistic manner. (Imdb-8/10)

9. Mindhunter

As the name suggests, Mindhunter is a deep dive into Criminal – Psychology. The series has a very dark theme and sound effects. The story revolves around FBI agents Henry ford and Bill tench who investigate the heinous crimes throughout the country and interview the most barbaric criminals of all time in America during 1970s. The casting of criminals is amazing because they created just replicas of the real life criminals such as Ed kemper, David Berkowitz, Charles Manson and many more. The story slowly unfolds itself and there are several scenes which are very tensed. The interviews, investigation and FBI, it is a great blend of investigative agency and Brains. The interviews are scripted very neatly and in a very spooky way with a copy of real interviews. It also has 2 seasons. Mindhunter is a Mind-blowing. It is a Netflix Original series. (Imdb-8.6/10)

8. Sex Education

This woke and modern series brought a whole different meaning to Sex education. The topic is majorly considered a taboo in the society. This British Comedy -drama series has been very applauded by the audience. A town, A school, An open- minded mom, A Nervous- Confused- Intelligent teenage boy and lots of other teenagers. The series shows the physical and metal changes that occur to the teenagers when they puberty and try to figure out what’s happening to them? Their moods, their love life and their sexualities with a lot of laughs. It covers all the major concerns of people and what do they understand by sex education? All the awkward moments, wise lectures, pep talks, wild dreams and parties (hell yeah). The series has it all, but you might not be comfortable watching it with your family. It is a great one. I think, it’s a must watch. (Imdb-8.6/10)

7. Money Heist

Coming to this adrenaline rush, Money heist isn’t just a series, it has become a phenomenon. This Spanish show has achieved so much recognition worldwide. The hype for this show was unreal and almost everyone from this generation knew what it is. Still, the series is about a group of badass thieves and struggling people coming together to make their lives better but going all against the law. Following a man who is a criminal mastermind and has a masterpiece in the name of a heist. The series has total 5 seasons but the audience still didn’t wanted the show to end The writing and screenplay just goes hand in hand. The special thing about this series is that at the end of every episode, it shocks the audience out of nowhere and the mystery unveils in the next episode. This show is just unbelievably exciting and has a strong screenplay, give it a chance if you haven’t already. (Imdb-8.2)

6.Stranger things

Stranger things is a show that hasm achieved fame worldwide. The show was literally representing Netflix. This show became a phenomenon in science-fiction and fantasy- drama genre with it’s spooky and adventurous screenplay. The show keeps you glued to the seats and you may get jumpscares any moment. It brings a very unique story showing multi dimensions and evil creatures. Having all child actors as main characters and up against all this chaos is more unique and stimulating to the audience. The show has an astonishing budget of approx. average of 200 million dollars per season. A small girl opens a gate to another dimension accidentally and it brings chaos to a town called Hawkins, Indiana. The story is from 1980’s time, so all that fashion and vintage look can be seen. The effects in the show is magnificent. The audience was allured by the unexpected scenes and turns in the show. The show has very large Cinema scale. Stranger things has a great fanbase everywhere around the world.(Imdb-8.7)

5. Peaky Blinders

Here’s a stroll back to the colonial times, this British series is an exceptional historical fiction and Crime- drama. This high- budget project brought a long awaited and very unique story to the audience. In the heart of Birmingham, England . A gang led by Tommy Shelby ( Cillian Murphy) is doing every illegal activity, one could possibly think of but there is a catch. It is all about family and votes in favour or against a decision, often finding himself in danger, he meets with all kind of devils along the way. The political dialogue and Gang wars are unravelled in an amazing manner. The Cinematography of the series is a standard to the best of all times. The series has 6 seasons on Netflix and each season brings another trouble for Tommy. The Music Production is on point. The Actors have done a great job too weather it is dialogue delivery or Emotional outbursts or any other Scene. The story starts bit slow but once you are in their world, you cannot keep yourself from being a part and not curious to know about next events. The series takes you back in the olden days and it has presented a very dark and industrial theme. Peaky blinders has achieved so many awards and allocades. It is one of the best works, you might ever see. (Imdb-8.8)

4.The Office

Now, coming to this amazeballs sit-com. The office has been so far the best comedy series (My opinion and other critics). Now you may ask,What’s best about this show? Now you may ask. I would say everything. The story line, the writing, the jokes and characters. Everything is on point. The story revolves around a normal American office where every employee comes to work, but they also come to under an vacuous and stupid boss. He always get into all kind of awkward situations and always create tensed moments. The series is not all jokes per say, it’s the awkward and full of cringe situation that drive everyone nuts. The performance by Steve Carell as Michael Scott is admirable. He pulled off so many difficult scenes neatly that other actors would have struggled with. The whole cast did a commendable job playing their characters. The series is shown as a documentary of an office which would be played at the end of completion. That’s the main concept of the show. Again, this also won so many awards including emmys and golden globe. The show was as Dwight Schrute may call it- Perfectenshlang.(Imdb-9)

3.Game of thrones

Here’s your ticket back to medieval times. The show is a gem in TV series. It has been a great success for HBO production. Game of thrones was kind of a start of series culture and it’s craze in the audience for splendid projects like this. This historic- drama was highly praised and recommended by critics, even after being trolled for it’s last season with a disappointing end. The audience was left in awe but still the series was successful in collecting all the hearts and appreciation by the audience. The series tells about nine great houses fighting for the throne in Westeros. It is a journey through fights, rivalries, alliances, deaths, politics and something far more concern worthy. The Dead waits in the north and in the south the dragon queen with her three dragons sails to Westeros to get her rightful throne back. The show has very strong and appealing characters grasping and provoking the audience’s favourite game. The series is perfection with it’s golden dialogues and script writing. This series is a cinematic representation of novel series written by R.R Martin. It’s a stunning fantasy and drama. (Imdb-9.2)

2.Breaking Bad

Starring Bryan Cranston as a chemistry teacher going rogue and Aaron Paul as a meth head and Drug dealer. The series sets a whole different level to Creative screen writing. It presents the Drugs system and Mafia politics to the audience. The Theme of this series is bit yellowish and suspenseful. The story goes like a chemistry teacher hearing a very devastating news and worrying about his family. So, he decides to go to any extent to provide and leave everything for his family. He meets an acquaintance, one of his students, who helps him to get there. They find a lot of trouble, Mafia fights, DEA leads and a huge load of Money. The series is a slow burn but the events turn unexpectedly anywhere and that is why, this show has won so many awards including emmys and golden globe. The series is a gem. (Imdb- 9.5)

1.Chernobyl

Number one? That’s a little debatable, isn’t it? Yes, but hear me out. Chernobyl is also an HBO limited series. The series is a bomb in the series world because of the aura, it created throughout whole series. It is based on a real horrible accident in the city of Pripyat, Ukraine (former part of Soviet countries). It brings the story of the worst nuclear disaster in the history of Mankind. When reactor number 4 goes nuts and explodes up in the air with radiation leaks, having millions of lives at stake. The authorities must take action to prevent a massive number of deaths. The horror, this series unleashes to the audience is crazy. It is a complete research, analysis and visual representation of the events. A complete dive into what went wrong? And the horrors associated with this nuclear disaster. It shows the truth and the characters, who were help accountable for the unfortunate accident. The series shows how interesting and unforgiving science can be. The starting dialogue- What is the Cost of lies?, In Jared harris’s voice will get you up on your feet. Exceptional writing, acting, story and research. It is a complete tribute to the people who suffered and lost their lives. This series is simply brilliant.( Imdb-9.4)
