Bio —

Kara Bullock (she/her) is a dancer, choreographer, creative arts facilitator, body based storyteller, writer, Anti Oppression, and Abolition focused artist. Kara is a mother to Wilder John Bullock and wife to Distance Bullock. Kara is a second generation settler on Treaty 7 territory. Her mother's heritage is from the island of Mindanao, city of Zamboanga, neighbourhood of Baliwasan in what is colonially known as the Philippines. On one side her great-grandfather was a Chinese migrant who took the name Barretto and on the other side her family name is Bermas. Her father's heritage is from what is Poland and the Sudetenland in what is now the Czech Republic. Her family names on that side are Nolte (originally Niski) and Rohland
