Samuel Teer —

Author

Samuel Teer is the Printz award winning writer of BROWNSTONE (Versify/Harper Collins). Samuel was born to a deaf American maintenance worker and a Guatemalan immigrant that spoke English as a distant second language — he took the obvious route and became a comics writer.

He was raised in the suburbs outside of St. Louis, MO. He currently lives in Colorado with his wife Andrea (an educator) and their lab-mixes, Olive and Cheese

Samuel’s YA graphic novel, BROWNSTONE with artist Mar Julia was published by Versify/Harper Collins in June 2024. It received a Harvey nomination and made Kirkus and Publisher’s Weekly Best Books of 2024 lists. It was awarded the Michael L. Printz award in 2025.

He is represented by Jas Perry at Looking Glass Literary & Media.
