Crystal Akana

Crystal Akana began her career as a morning show radio host in 2004, gaining national recognition after her appearance on television. Since then, she has worked with various radio personalities and shows such as Lanai & Augie, Greg Hammer & Rory Wild, Kaleo Pilanca, and Junior Kekuewa Jr.

Outside of her radio work, Crystal leads an active and fulfilling life. She enjoys staying fit, volunteering, emceeing events, providing consulting services, creating social content, and coaching her daughter's soccer teams. Additionally, she has held notable positions including co-hosting KITV's Jerry Lewis LIVE MDA Telethons and serving as an emcee for their annual gala at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. She has also been a radio host on Hawaiian Sky Rhythms for Hawaiian Airlines & Hana Hou Magazine, and previously worked as the Public Relations Director for The State Police Union (SHOPO) and in marketing/PR for the Minority Leader at Hawaii's State Legislature.

Born and raised on the Windward side of Oahu, Crystal now resides on the West Side and cherishes her piece of paradise. Despite her accomplishments, she remains a down-to-earth local girl who finds joy in simple activities like jumping rope and spending time with family by the ocean. She has even accomplished a remarkable feat of paddling across the Moloka'i channel, spanning 42 miles. Crystal is also a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and takes pride in maintaining a tidy home, singing karaoke with friends, and even tending to the yard by pulling weeds. She is a supportive wife to her husband, who serves in the Hawaii Army National Guard, and has personally experienced deployment, which fuels her commitment to serving her country. With two daughters just 19 months apart, she strives to be a good example and role model to them.

Crystal Akana's strong faith and foundation in Jesus are integral to her daily life and actions. She relies on her faith to guide her decisions and find strength in challenging times. Her relationship with Jesus is a cornerstone of her identity and shapes how she interacts with others and approaches her various roles and responsibilities. Crystal's faith provides her with a sense of purpose and fuels her desire to make a positive impact in the world around her.

It all came full circle as Crystal hosted his press release at the Surfjack Waikiki, and Saturday night’s concert. It was a blessing for her, as she was on board supporting his music drops one day early, on HI93 Oahu.

Destination Wedding for Jasmine & Richard

The couple had an elegant and intimate reception @ the beautiful Sheraton Moana Surfrider. Their guests flew in from the east coast and Taiwan. Crystal shares fun facts about Hawaii that the guests love and appreciate. Although there are language barriers, Crystal uses her experience to find a translator in the audience for those who don’t understand English. The night was a success!

While many emcees didn’t want to accept this gig, Crystal accepted the challenge. She has emceed over 20 years, and 2023 was her very First Quinseañera. While she only had a week to prepare, she practiced her Spanish delivery with names. The client was very pleased and guest inquired for their upcoming event as well!

The Ohana flew Crystal to Maui to emcee their graduate’s special day. The program was handed to her right before the party started. Although some emcees may see this as a problem, Crystal is always ready no matter the circumstance. The party was a rager and a grand ‘ole time!
