How I made my IKEA greenhouse cabinet
This is the cabinet I started with. I chose this cabinet because of the design, price and availability. I also added a waterproof sealant during the building process.
Lights are the next step. I have 2 different lights in my detolf, but the first ones I will link here.
I have the Arcadia Jungle Dawn 15w screwed straight into the top of the detolf. I had to take the door off to get the wires through. I also had to take out a shelf, as some of the plants were quite close to the light.
These lights were recommended to me through a plant group and are these LED aquarium lights in 30-48cm. I have these on the second shelf because they aren’t as strong, therefore I’m able to keep 3 shelves, and hopefully, won’t run into any damage. They come with brackets to attach to the fish tank, I just slid these out and put them back in upside down. They fit nicely around my shelves and then I secured with zip ties. These are sooo light so I don’t have any concerns about the weight.
I still haven’t decided if I’ll keep the metal shelves or make the switch fo acrylic. For now though I found these coated metal wire shelves. They are adjustable, but only need to be pulled out slightly to fit into the frame. I then secured with zip ties.
