Hi there 👋
My names Lydia & I’ve been in the nail industry for 5 years! I qualified with the WSBHT back in 2020 specialising in manicures and nail enhancements. Since then, nails have been a huge passion of mine and I love keeping my skills and knowledge sharp and up to date.
After setting up my Daisy Chain Nails business and being a part-time mobile nail technician and a part-time private housekeeper for 2 years, I finally found my first nail room to rent! I moved into The Cutting Bar Hair Salon at the end of 2023, ditched off the dead-end job and jumped straight into full-time self-employment🫣
Now we’re here in 2025… covid is 5 years ago and I’m now a small business owner! I can’t thank all my clients enough for all the support and confidence they’ve given me throughout my first year & I cannot wait to see where this journey takes me 🫶
Gel polish is the most natural nail enhancement, close to varnish! Gel polish is a bit thicker than your normal varnish, cures in UV light, and lasts a lot longer. Ensuring top quality products is an absolute priority to me. I only use professional, UK based, Vegan & Cruelty Free certified products guaranteeing the best quality manicure. 🌸🐝
Acrylic is perfect for creating long, strong extensions, or for reinforcing your natural nail strength with an overlay. It air dries, meaning you don’t need to cure it in a nail lamp, it comes in natural nudes & coloured powder, and you can also paint gel polishes on top! Infills are required for maintenance every 3-4 weeks 📆
Builder Gel is perfect for natural nail strength. It’s very similar to gel polish, with a thicker viscosity. You can get natural coloured builder gel, or paint any gel colour on top! Infills are due (similar to acrylics) every 3-4 weeks.📆

A plain, natural nail gel manicure. This service cost starts at £30 and last up to 4 weeks!
Perfect for creating immediate, durable length!
This service charge starts at £40 & infills are required for maintainable every 3 - 4 weeks, and are priced starting at £35.
Super natural and light on natural nails, but giving them strength & durability at the same time! This service charge starts at £35 for natural nail overlay, £40 for short extensions, & infills are required every 3 - 4 weeks and start at £30 for overlay and £35 for extensions!
Additional, hand painted art is available upon booking only as it requires extra time and preparation.

With some gorgeous weather just round the corner, I wanted to keep you up-to-date on the latest summer nail trends!
Colour wise, it has to be butter yellow this year💛 With Hayley Bieber and Selena Gomez sporting their butter yellow manicures, you’ll definitely want to match!
Other key trends this season include pastel colours (lavender lilac, baby blue & mint green), cat-eye and chrome glaze, and abstract or 3D art! 🖌️
All in all, builder gel is very similar to regular gel polish. You cure it the same way in a UV nail lamp, but it’s a thicker viscosity (essentially the thickness in consistency). After it’s cured, it still has a bit of flexibility, unlike acrylic, but is a lot harder and thicker than regular gel polish.
BIAB stands for Build In A Bottle, and is trade marked by a well-known nail company, but is also the same thing as Builder Gel.
In my opinion, Builder Gel is less drying to the natural nail than acrylic overlay, and less harsh your nails over gel polish as it doesn’t need to be removed at every appointment. It’s not ideal for adding extreme length as it’s too flexible, but overall for natural nails, it’s personally my favourite product to use 🫶
