From feeding a crowd TO Feeding the soul
For over a decade I owned my own catering company, catered and nurtured thousands with my passion and creativity from the culinary field...
Until one day, I had to make a decision to close my business as I unexpectedly had to spend months at home in bed, after a car accident that left me physically incapable, and I had to learn the true meaning of surrender.
It wasn't easy, you can only imagine the fear of a single mom sitting at home for months, not knowing what the future will bring. I was thinking the worst, especially the thoughts of losing control of my life.
One thing led to another, and I found myself journaling every day after a friend had recommended it will help, and soon enough I found myself exploring the world of meditation, going from not being able to sit for 5 min, to finding stillness within.
Today I understand why everything had to happen the way it did... why I had to go through the things I had to go through, both in my career and relationships, without these realization I wouldn't be here today the person I proudly am.
My initial experiences with mindfulness coaching and somatic experience started from a sense of curiosity and openness. The process encouraged me to explore the depths of my mind and emotions. Through meditation, breathwork, and self reflection, I discovered that mindfulness wasn't just about being present in the moment, it was about embracing my own existence with compassion.
As I dived deeper into my practice, I began to notice significant shifts.
My awareness expanded, allowing me to observe my thoughts and emotions without judgment.
The clarity and awareness I was in, allowed better decision making, less reacting more responding and enhanced my emotional resilience.
One of the most remarkable aspects of mindfulness coaching was its capacity to reveal patterns and beliefs that had been hidden in my subconscious. Through shadow work, I confronted long held fears and insecurities, and over time I learned to release them, allowing space for self acceptance and self love to expand.
Mindfulness coaching is a way of living. It's about embracing the present moment, nurturing self compassion, and finding the stillness within. It is a journey that continues to unfold, both for myself and those I have the honor of coaching. As I reflect on this journey, I am reminded of the wise words of Jon Kabat Zinn, "You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf”.
