I learned this truth during my recovery from a brain injury. At the age of 23, I was hit by a drunk driver & sustained a life-altering brain injury that left me broken down & powerless for several years. The medical world said there was no hope of recovery & told me to accept this life as my “new normal”. Although my body was physically impaired, my spirit was strong & I refused to believe their diagnoses. My mind was determined to recover…and I did!
