Dr. Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

#1. Be proactive

Don’t be reactive (always focusing on things you can’t control). Being proactive means you focus on things you CAN control! Instead of complaining, which btw your brain does as reaction since it requires less effort, why don’t you do something about it?

For example: if you’re unhappy with your health, instead of complaining that you are, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Find out what you can do to improve your health. Exercise? Eat more balanced meals?

#2 Begin with the end in mind

If you imagine that you’re at your own funeral, looking at yourself in the casket - what do you want to be able to say about yourself?

Most of us would have to adjust the way we’re living in order to be able to say what we want about ourselves. Envision yourself in the place you want to reach, whether it be some form of success, wealth, happiness, stability (this can be physical, mental, spiritual or financial) or if it’s just completing your own bucket list, having visited x amount of countries or being able to get yourself your dream car etc. Start thinking about it now, so you can decide how to get to them sooner, rather than later.
