• Meet the Doodling Disciple •

Hi! I’m Constance, the woman, Bible student and sketchnoter behind Dearly Discipled!

I’m a pretty simple girl… just a GOD-fearing, JESUS CHRIST-following, straight-shooter saved by grace with a biblical worldview. I’m a wife and homeschooling mama bear to our two children. My days are spent educating them and keeping our home. When time and ends allow, travel is my go-to hobby. Give me a plane or train any day and I’m one happy girl. I pack light and always leave room in my carry-on for an unlined journal and markers for sketchnoting and doodling on the go!

But more than traveling and sketchnoting, I cherish GOD’s Holy Word. I seek to know GOD through Holy Scripture and encourage followers of the biblical JESUS CHRIST to do the same.

“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost be with you all.” (2nd Corinthians 13:14)

• Sketchnoting •

I enjoy connecting the dots of understanding through meaningful doodles. This practice is called sketchnoting!

Some may hear “doodle” and immediately equate it to “mindless wandering”. On the contrary, the specific act of sketchnoting engages the body and mind in learning. The physical act of doodling has the power to inspire ideas, connect information, and retain knowledge on a super level and at a super pace. So I not only produce visual study aids as I learn but I also move my body in the process which relieves me of boredom thereby minimizing the likelihood of drifting. Visually annotating in the margins expresses a commitment to fully engage during my study sessions. Sketchnoting is learning and a real win-win.
